Position Overview/Description - CAD Technican
Seeking a CAD technician as we take on interesting large-scale projects. Working on technically complex and challenging projects within the building industry, CAD Technician will be involved in project technical drafting as well as collaboration with relevant team
Duties And Responsibilities
- Create high-quality technical drawings of Fire / Smoke Curtains (plans, sections & details) based on drawings supplied by client and information supplied by survey and make modifications to existing drawings
- Create schematic diagrams required for Fire / Smoke Curtain project
- Provide accurate, detailed and to scale drawings
- Provide drawing register and schedule that aligns with the project requirements
- Liaise with architects, engineers, designers, Project Manager and other relevant individual (via email or Teams meeting) to understand the design requirements
- Ensure drawings are compliant with industry standards and protocols
- Able to explore, upload and download files to & from collaborative sites/CDE (Asite, V4P, Aconex, etc.)
- Conduct quality checks on completed drawings to identify any errors or discrepancies
- Communicate effectively with team Lead to ensure project deadlines are met
Skills and Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge in utilising AutoCAD software (At least 3 years experience Preferable)
- Experience with different collaborative sites (Asite, V4P, Aconex etc.) (Basic training will be provided if required)
- Able to read Architectural / Construction drawings
- Able to read survey data
- Able to produce Construction drawings (At least 3 years experience Preferable)
- Knowledge in building Construction materials
- Highly Detail Oriented

In this role you will be expected to produce General Arrangement and Detailed Design drawings for telecommunications base stations using AutoCAD on Streetworks, Greenfield and Rooftop sites. Every design is different and comes with its own set of challenges, you will have a creative approach to problem solving, applying project specifications to site specific situations.
The Role:
- Interpret site surveys and existing drawings, make modifications for various site upgrade projects.
- Drawings encompass all aspects from planning application drawings, through to Detailed Design and Fabrication level drawings.
- Producing accurate and legible drawings using the AutoCAD system to the highest quality
- Amending drawings where necessary.
- Viewing and interpreting all site photos correctly.
- Reviewing the Multi Site Visit with the Engineer who visited the site prior to starting the drawings to ensure correct interpretation and to capture all requirements.
- Liaison with Build team when required on site design issues and changes.
- Compliance with CDM regulations.
- Ensuring product knowledge is up to-date.
- Working to deadlines and providing reliable forecasts.
Essential Knowledge and Skills:
- Experience of AutoCAD in a telecoms role is desirable.
- Analytical thinking, able to interpret site surveys and existing drawings making the correct changes for various site upgrade projects.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Enthusiastic person with drive and self-motivation.
- Outstanding communication skills at all levels.
- Strong attention to detail, able to deliver the highest levels of accuracy and quality in every drawing.
- Having access to your own transportation is considered essential for this role as public transport is very limited to our offices
