Willingness to learn and complete course within specified duration (both theory and practical)

- Technical: Read and interpret engineering drawings. Identify symbols, tolerances, and machining instructions. Translate drawings into machining operations. Identify inserts and troubleshoot where necessary. Use of measuring instruments – outside and inside mics, verniers, telescopic gauges, thread and blade mics, bore mics, thread gauges. Hard part machining. Set up and operate manual machines including lathes, milling machines, and drilling machines. Perform turning, facing, threading, boring, and tapering operations on various metals and alloys. Build machine-specific technical competence through training. Fit mechanical components using hand tools. Align shafts, bearings, and couplings. Perform hydraulic and pneumatic fittings. Complete the 3–4-year apprenticeship programme as per company and SETA requirements. Always Adhere to Duty of Care Policy.
Education and Qualifications:
- Grade 12 (Matric) with Mathematics and Physical Science.
- N2 or higher in Mechanical Engineering (Fitting & Turning).
- Higher qualification (N5/N6 in Engineering) will be advantageous.
