The Data and Analytics Lead is a pivotal leadership role within Omnia's Data and Analytics team, responsible for guiding the transition to a modern, scalable data environment. This role leads a team of full stack BI developers—spanning both data engineering and reporting—and is accountable for the successful delivery of governed data products and analytical solutions that support strategic decision-making across the Group. The role plays a key part in driving the execution of the Omnia Data Hub, consolidating fragmented reporting environments, and enabling a culture of self-service analytics and data product thinking across business units. Qualifications- Matric or NQF level 5

Certifications:

Eduvos is looking to hire the services of an Independent Contractor, Data Analytics and Data Analysis Lecturer, at our Vanderbijlpark campus on a part-time basis.
Type of appointment:
Independent Contractor (part-time; flexible workhours agreement)
Purpose:
- To lecture Commerce-related modules, in the faculty on a part-time (contractual) basis.
- To assist in the administration and departmental affairs and activities as required by the academic department.
Minimum qualifications required:
- Honours in ITC
- Certificate in Power BI
Experience:
- Relevant lecturing experience
- Necessary knowledge of higher education practices and processes
- Relevant research experience
Modules to be lectured:
- Data Analytics (Power BI)
- Data Analysis

Job Description
This role is for a visionary leader who thrives at the intersection of business, technology, and innovation. Youll get the autonomy to influence C-suite decisions, work with best-in-class tech (Azure Synapse, SQL, metadata and MDM platforms), and lead the charge in setting the companys long-term data direction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and execution of the organization's data management and analytics strategy, aligned with business priorities.
- Champion data governance, quality, and compliance to meet South African regulatory standards.
- Oversee the architecture, ingestion, and maintenance of enterprise-wide data, ensuring consistency and reliability.
- Drive analytics use cases for key support functions (Finance, Risk, HR, and Actuarial), embedding data insights into day-to-day decision-making.
- Collaborate with IT to maintain scalable and compliant data infrastructure and pipelines.
- Build and lead a high-performing team, fostering a culture of ownership and performance excellence.
Job Experience and Skills Required:
- Bachelors Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, or similar (Masters preferred).
- 8+ years in data, analytics, or tech-related roles within financial services, telecoms, or insurance.
- 3+ years in a senior leadership or enterprise data management capacity.
- Proven success in implementing large-scale data governance, analytics, and architecture strategies.
- Strong technical background in Azure Synapse, SQL, and data integration tools.
- In-depth understanding of South African data governance and regulatory compliance.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to bridge business and technology.
- Strong communication and presentation skills - confident engaging with executives.
- Ability to lead, coach, and inspire a multi-disciplinary data team.
- Passion for driving continuous improvement and innovation through data.
