Hands on, hospitality couple required to run a 4 star Country House in White River. Salary for the couple is R15-R20k per month. The package also includes accomodation on site, electricity, rates, water, food allowance. Work 10 weeks, off 1 week.
The hospitality couple will be managed by the owner and will be responsible for:
1/ Guest Services
Managing guest check in/out, reservations, handling enquiries and dealing with complaints. All aspects of keeping guests content as far as in your capabilities. Must be able to prepare and serve breakfast and dinners for guests. Must be able to make all guests feel welcome and have excellent hospitality and communication skills.
2/ Operations and Maintenance
Overseeing day to day operations, maintaining and/or reporting breakages or areas where maintenance is required. Ensure the property remains neat and tidy and the lodge is kept in a satisfactory condition and able to welcome guests.
3/ Staff Management
Supervising and developing the housekeeping and ground staff and any employees added to the team
4/ Financial management
Monitoring expenses and ensuring we are operating within the budget. Ensuring guests have paid for the services.
5/ All other tasks that are identified and deemed necessary to run a guest lodge successfully.
An example of Day to day running of the lodge:
- Take reservations via phone, email, booking agents and generate invoices
- Reply to enquiries and offer additional information when required by phone or email.
- Managing Nightsbridge booking platform
- Liaise with booking agents such as , LekkeSlaap or direct bookings via nightsbridge bookings.
- Ensure housekeeping has rooms cleaned adequately and in line with the 4* grading requirements.
- Participate in Tourism grading inspections (annually)
- Manage Housekeeping and ground staff to ensure lodge remains "picture perfect".
- Meet and greet each guest/s during their stay.
- Prepare and serve breakfast daily and evening meals when required. Dinners are required to be pre-booked.
- Ensure stock is sufficient and order/buy stock when required. When stock arrives, receive deliveries and check stock.
- Check out guests on departure day, generate invoices and process payments
- Do daily room inspections ensuring standards remain high, DSTV operational and rooms meet standars as set our by tourism grading.
- Report any negative feedback to the Owners for collective action and resolve
- Ensure animals on the farm are taken care of by the ground staff including chickens, ducks, birds and Koi fish.
We are looking for a mature couple with no dependents.
Live in position in a furnished 1 bed flat.
Previous experience in hospitality an andvantage however retired professional couples who love to be hospitable and looking for experience in running a guest house are encouraged to apply.
