About the Role:
The Head of Global Payroll is responsible for leading the global payroll operations team at Deel to design, implement, and manage a scalable global model for payroll operations and administration for our customers in 150+ countries, and for over 3500 employees under multiple divisional and regional payroll entities and product lines. As the global process owner of payroll, the role is responsible for the redesign and reorganization of the various payroll-related processes and teams into a more cohesive, standardized, and streamlined organization, optimized to deliver outstanding service to Deel customers and employees. This role will work closely with the various Operational, Finance, Tax, IT, and HR functions and other key stakeholders to build trust and resolve issues, as well as provide ongoing coaching and development to the Payroll directors, managers, and team members.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this role will be highly visible to executive leadership and a key player in establishing a best-in-class payroll product and services organization.
This role is designed for payroll professionals who will leverage their significant experience in payroll operations, administration and leadership to influence product whilst building a business and team at scale for best in class global payroll delivery. Owners, builders, and those curious and interested to build the first truly global payroll offering will be best suited to the role.
What You Will Do:
- Serve as a key member of the Operations leadership team working closely with the team to effectively lead, manage and support Deel’s global payroll business across multiple product lines.
- Leverage global payroll knowledge and deep experience to both influence and guide product development in the areas of payroll services, but also to design, build and manage global payroll organizational structure and teams.
- Leverage operational prowess to tackle some of the most complex challenges in delivering global payroll at scale and building the team and technology to support it.
- Lead a variety of cross-functional initiatives, in the advancement of the strategic direction of Operations OKRs.
- Build out Global Payroll Operations reporting & planning capabilities and cadence to inform departmental planning, strategic decision making and demonstrate organizational impact and value delivery.
- Partner with the Head of Payroll Implementation, Product, Sales, and other Operational leaders in HR to ensure the overall business strategy and roadmap for global payroll administration, inclusive of tax, is aligned to deliver results and preserve the integrity of Deel compliance and service reliability.
- Evaluate business structures and processes and assess issues that serve as barriers to operational effectiveness and efficiency.
- Proactively drive change management activities to ensure wide adoption and acceptance of changes.
- Play a key role in the integration of acquired companies into Deel’s Payroll structure, processes, and teams.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior and executive leadership on current Payroll and Payroll tax/compliance trends, best-in-class processes, and competitive technologies.
- Be responsible for the delivery of Deel’s Managed Payroll, and Employer of Record (EOR) products.
What You Will Bring:
- 15+ years of relevant experience in Payroll or related Human Resources, Operational or Finance experience.
- 10+ years of relevant experience leading Payroll and related processes in large, complex, and rapidly changing organizations.
- Experience with managing Payroll for employees in a minimum of 25 countries.
- Experience with cloud-based (SaaS) Payroll applications.
- Experience with navigating and managing compliance for global payroll tax and relevant solutions and requirements.
- Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) implementation and/or compliance programs.
- A proven track record of driving significant process improvement and organizational redesign projects.
- Excellent leadership skills, including the ability to interact effectively with people with diverse styles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects successfully.
- Ability to think strategically and creatively, with a strong focus on delivering results.
- Experience in high-growth /pre-IPO Technology companies and/or global public companies is highly preferred.

We’re seeking an Accounting Manager to sit between bookkeeping and controller functions. You’ll own core accounting operations, implement a clean chart of accounts , improve monthly close, and support audits/QoE requests. This role partners closely with Operations and Leadership, ensuring timely, accurate financials for decision-making.
Responsibilities- Own GL hygiene, journal entries, reconciliations (banks, credit cards, deferred revenue, accruals).
- Implement/improve chart of accounts, classes, locations; map to reporting packages.
- Oversee AP/AR: bills, approvals, payments, collections cadence, and vendor contracts.
- Revenue ops coordination (subscription billing, proration, refunds, deferred revenue, revenue recognition).
- Build monthly close checklist and timeline; manage deliverables and stakeholder comms.
- Support budgeting & forecasting; track operating and capital spend vs. plan.
