Job Description & Expected Base Salary

Account Manager for Oil and Fats processers including BioDiesel and Specialty Fats.

Purpose

We are seeking an individual who brings a strong blend of commercial acumen and technical expertise, capable of managing key customer accounts while also understanding and addressing technical needs in processing environments. This position would be to support the Team Lead with the growth and development of Novonesis Oils & Fats in Africa, through a combination of direct customer and distributor management, identifying new opportunities. The position can be based in Johannesburg - South Africa, Nairobi – Kenya, Cairo - Egypt.

Roles and Responsibilities

Primary responsibility to manage direct accounts and distributors and accomplish sales, and profit targets in the assigned region for Novonesis Oils & Fats business.

Provide monthly sales/commercial updates and overall health of the business.

Develop and track and execute customer account plans to ensure aligned strategy with account team.

Co-ordinate and communicate all account activities and plans between customer, technical support and other internal teams to ensure customer requirements are met.

Have fair technical understanding of Oils and Fats plant operations to be able to conduct customer needs dialogue to identify pain points and translate them into potential opportunities.

Identify new partners/ distributors and unlock new opportunities through a combination of market gap analysis, Novonesis portfolio mapping and partner strength.

Collaborate with Novonesis regional and global marketing to formulate plans to grow the business in Oils & Fats via market share gain, penetration and innovations.

Drive sales via the One CRM system to track & maintain opportunity pipeline within the various opportunity stages.

Responsible for negotiating all customers and channel partners contracts to ensure alignment with targets and respective agreed pricing guidance.

Guide the potential market opportunities, whilst collaborating with regulatory to ensure smooth logistic operations of new products.

Work closely with demand planner to ensure updated customer forecasts, opportunities and demand plans

Be able to represent Novonesis on industry forums and be the voice of our solutions in trade shows and conferences, when needed.

Qualifications and Experience

Degree in Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering or a related field; advanced degree preferred.

Minimum 5 years of commercial experience Oils & Fats, or related industries would be advantageous.

Enzyme knowledge would be an advantage.

Willingness to travel extensively within the Africa region.

Director Key Account Management Chemical in Sub-Saharan Africa will focus on DP World’s top-tier strategic clients across Chemical industry in Sub-Saharan Africa. Responsible for cross-selling and up-selling all DP World capabilities to existing clients and developing the business in alignment with the overall strategy. Being the support point of contact from operations for all key client matters, anticipating client needs based on industry and global trends and client performance.

The Key Account Management Chemical SSA will be responsible for maintaining and growing the existing book of business and finding new clients in the Chemical space. The role requires a successful collaboration between operations and commercial on contract renewal strategies and addressing scope change opportunities (cross-selling and up-selling) commercially within the existing business. Influence and assist with operational implementation, contributing to client’s satisfaction, reducing risk and improve profitability.

Job Context

Key Account Management Chemical SSA is critical for the success of DP World’s growth strategy and to maintain global and regional relationship with its key clients across the Chemical industry vertical.

The role will focus on client growth through extension of DP World capability offering within existing accounts (farming) as well as hunting for new business in SSA region. This role will also link with Global Key Accounts Management to align strategies and to assist in opening doors for global accounts in the SSA region as well as drive cohesion between business units in SSA.

Director Key Account Management Chemical SSA will work and influence all leaders of all relevant support functions to ensure all commercial activities are supported (operations, operational excellence, finance, IT, HR, legal,) She/he will provide leadership, processes and direction to the commercial organization and she/he will develop talents being accessible, hands-on and leading by example.

Key Performance Areas:

  • Accountable for coordinating and assisting in implementing the KAM Framework for strategic existing Chemical clients, providing direction and promoting collaboration with BD Sales and operational teams.
  • Meet and exceed financial growth targets for the assigned global Chemical customer accounts and/or new customers annually and expand our geographic and solutions offering footprint with these accounts across DP World service portfolio
  • Maintain understanding of customers’ expectations relative to operational solutions, costs and results
  • Keep key account plans relevant and up to date and measure/follow up on the strategic actions of the key account and also highlight progress to date
  • Identify and in collaboration with account owners and sponsors, assist in develop relationships with key decision makers at all levels within an account
  • Manage governance structure and Communications Plan by assisting scheduling and facilitating Biannual and Quarterly Business Reviews with assigned strategic clients as well as monthly operational meetings.
  • Construct Account Plans in consultation with operations to understand the customer's business (strategically, operationally, financially), understand the customer's buying process and identify all influences, intimately understanding their requirements
  • Maintain an up-to-date pipeline of current and future opportunities, quantifying number of opportunities, value of the opportunity and managing the probability to win
  • Generating new Greenfields business by applying end-to-end DP World model in designing of end-to-end solutions.
  • Coordinate RFQs for new business opportunities as required and renewals of existing business with assigned clients engaging other functions as required and own the commercial relationship and contract negotiations
  • Follow the internal commercial process, procedures and thresholds
  • Foster a close cooperation between Account Management, Business Development (Sales), Operations, Operational Excellence and all other functions (IT, HR, Finance, etc.)
  • Partner with colleagues in other regions on broader opportunities for global clients and industry verticals
  • Act as an ambassador for DP World at all times when working; promoting and demonstrating positive behaviors in harmony with DP World’s Principles, values and culture; ensuring the highest level of safety is applied in all activities; understanding and following DP World’s Code of Conduct and Ethics policies
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications Required:

  • Degree or equivalent in Supply Chain, Business Administration or Transport/Logistics
  • Proven track record of having consistently achieved on a sales quota at a relevant scale

Experience and Skills Required:

  • Minimum >8 years’ experience within the transport, logistics or freight forwarding industry (or similar service industry) with focus on Key Account Management or Sales role.

Job Title: Senior Sales Executive (Customer Success & Account Management)

Location: Cape Town (Remote to start, Hybrid in Foreshore at a later stage)

Salary: R30,000 R50,000 Cost to Company (flexible package structure)

Hours: UK Business Hours 8AM to 4PM or 9AM to 5PM

We are on the hunt for a highly experienced, customer-focused Senior Customer Success & Account Manager to join our fast-growing team. If you're passionate about delivering exceptional client experiences, have a strong background in the lending or legal sectors, and thrive in a fast-paced, high-performing environment this role is for you.

About the Role:

You'll be at the heart of our client journey managing high-value relationships from post-sale through onboarding and ongoing success. Your role is pivotal in maintaining seamless communication, proactive follow-ups, and ensuring a top-tier customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage inquiries and applications from borrowers and solicitors, providing accurate and helpful guidance.
  • Proactively follow up on leads to optimize conversion rates.
  • Liaise with customers and professional firms to gather outstanding documents and progress applications.
  • Compile and manage application documentation for underwriting review.
  • Oversee a high volume of concurrent applications, ensuring accurate records and timely updates to all stakeholders.
  • Guide clients through each stage of the application process and transition to underwriting.
  • Regularly update senior team members on the status of applications across the pipeline.
  • Keep all relevant parties informed on progress and next steps.
  • Prepare loan documentation and collect completed paperwork for execution.

What Were Looking For:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a lending, financial services, or legal sector role.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable engaging with solicitors from top-tier law firms.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational capabilities.
  • Able to communicate with empathy and professionalism, especially with vulnerable clients.
  • Experience managing complex client cases and handling rejections with care.
  • Skilled in multitasking and managing large volumes of cases efficiently.
  • Proven ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Background in probate and/or family law lending preferred, or a strong willingness to develop expertise in these areas.
  • Positive, proactive, and adaptable mindset.
  • Experience in partnerships or litigation is a bonus.

Main Purpose of The Job:

The company is in search of a highly performing and self-driven individual to fulfil the Proposal Engineer role within our sales department. This will be a high-pressure, target-driven role, and high performers can expect to be highly rewarded. In this role, the Proposal Engineer/Account Manager will be primarily responsible for nurturing, selling, and upselling the companys products to our existing clients to unlock commercial value from the existing relationships. Furthermore, the role will include acquiring new clients predominantly in the public sector and other sectors through identifying and responding to suitable tenders, RFQs and RFI.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the South African Public and Private sector market and can navigate complex environments while adhering to processes as well as the companys Code of Ethics and EHS standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive, manage and execute the business revenue growth of the public sector business and other existing clients with very high targets.
  • Build strategic relationships at SOCs, Municipalities, Utilities & other existing clients and engage consistently with client stakeholders at all levels to ensure consistent alignment.
  • Actively pursue new key accounts in the public utilities sector and other strategic sectors.
  • Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities within existing accounts and lead commercial negotiations on new and ongoing contracts.
  • Ensures that the public sector sales and existing clients retention plan is aligned with and supports the overall company revenue goals.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of client operations, challenges, and strategic objectives through regular customer interactions with HODs, Engineers, Plant Managers, and other important role players with a view of creating long-term loyalty to the business and solid trust
  • Responsible for comprehensively responding to business-aligned tenders, RFQs, quotations and proposal efforts to prospects and customers alike
  • Timeous updating of company sales tracking systems with accurate data
  • Analyse client feedback and market dynamics to inform strategic decisions
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure effective customer experience
  • Provide input to strategy and new business team based on client needs and feedback, and support the rollout of new products and services as and when they are launched
  • Reporting/presenting at weekly, monthly and Ad Hoc sales meetings

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Diploma or bachelors degree in business management, Business Administration, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in key account management, business development, or strategic sales, ideally within the public/private utilities sector. (Experience in the energy sector is a strong advantage.)
  • Proven success in managing and nurturing key accounts in both the public and private sectors, with a track record of securing new business in South Africa. (Experience in other regional markets is a plus.)
  • Consistent track record of exceeding sales targets and driving business growth.
  • Strong understanding of procurement and regulatory frameworks in both public and private sectors.
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing and winning bids, tenders, and RFQs for both public and private sector opportunities.
  • Familiarity with various sales methodologies and experience using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong presentation abilities that create impact and clarity.
  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality customer service and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Strong technical background (engineering or equivalent).
  • High attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple proposals simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Commercial acumen and cost estimation knowledge.
