About The Role

The Portfolio encompasses of Leading Brands Dark & Lovely, Restore Plus, Sadie and Blue Ice Deodorants. This pivotal role will be instrumental in driving our Strategy, equity, fostering innovation & communication strategy, and ensuring our brands resonate powerfully with South African & African consumers across all touchpoints namely Brand Architecture, and all Media touch points. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining & creating Innovation, Brand CI, Content & Communication Strategy that not only reinforces brand awareness but also supports our commercial objectives in the fast-paced beauty market.
Key Responsibilities
End to End Innovation Execution:
- Develop and implement a cutting-edge Innovation strategy for ABB brands, aligning with brand identity and overarching business goals in the South African market & African Markets.
- Proactively collaborate with Loreal South Africa R&I, Factory, Commercial & Supply Chain in order to develop and execute a strategic innovation plan.
- Launch innovation with L’Oreal standard precision and Assets to support all relevant touch points
- Engage with Global Emerging markets in the relevant departments for Best Practice opportunities and communicate the successes of ABB Brands
- Support SA & African Markets in innovating with existing products & communication.
- Develop and implement a cutting-edge Communication strategy with Content for ABB brands, aligning with brand identity and overarching business goals in the South African market.
- Proactively identify emerging trends in content development, digital, consumer behavior, and digital technologies to propose and implement innovative approaches.
- Drive innovation in content strategies and digital experiences to ensure L'Oréal CPD maintains a leading position in the local market.
- Actively contribute to the strategic vision and evolution of digital products and services, encompassing both Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) e-commerce platforms and content-driven non-D2C websites for the CPD division.
- Co-create a Brand CI for all ABB Brands including ABB and Ensure strict adherence to brand consistency, creative guidelines, and editorial standards across all digital platforms.
- Oversee the end-to-end production of all KV, digital & TV content, including global campaigns, local social campaigns, creative assets, and video content.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams (Marketing, Digital, Research & Innovation, CDMO) and external agencies to conceptualize and execute high-impact content.
- Manage creative projects from brief to execution, including photoshoots, video production, and post-production.
- Rigorously analyze content performance metrics and data to derive actionable insights, identify trends, and pinpoint opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Integrate social listening insights into content strategy to adapt initiatives based on consumer trends and feedback.
- Contribute significantly to the optimization of e-commerce performance and brand loyalty through the creation and distribution of highly relevant and engaging content.
- Monitor the performance of websites and digital services, defining success metrics and benchmarking against leading brands within the division.
- Demonstrate strong creative and innovative thinking, unafraid to challenge the status quo and take calculated risks to capture consumer attention.
- Possess a deep understanding of consumer habits, social media platforms, and content production processes, ensuring all initiatives resonate with the target audience.
- Stay abreast of the latest digital trends, tools, and technologies to continuously enhance L'Oréal's digital capabilities.
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field.
- Proven experience ( +7 years) in marketing ( with digital focus), content strategy, innovation management, or a similar role, preferably within the FMCG or beauty industry.
- Demonstrated expertise in content creation, digital campaign management, and social media platforms.
- Ability to lead a team, manage stakeholders efficiently and effectively
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable strategies.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
- A strong understanding of the South African marketing landscape and consumer behavior is essential.
- Proficiency in digital analytics tools and content management systems.
