An exciting position as a Financial Manager of a group of companies that produces cut flowers in South Africa is available. The successful candidate will be responsible for the general financial management of the companies in the group. The main role will be to measure the financial and production performance of the farm managers and to communicate this with top-level management, to help them implement strategies to improve the overall profitability of the group.
Duties & Responsibilities- General management and supervision of administration and financial staff.
- Preparation and analysis of monthly/annual budget results and reporting to management.
- Preparation and analysis of production reports and reporting to management.
- Weekly financial reports to the companies Director and General Manager.
- Checking and implementing internal controls in the group.
- Checking and approving orders.
- Identifying shortcomings in current management structure and implementing solutions.
- Cost management and negotiations with suppliers.
- Advising and supporting management in decision-making.
- Preparation and evaluation of business plans.
- Degree in Financial or Management Accounting.
- Must be proficient in Afrikaans and English.
- At least 3 years of experience as an accountant or financial manager.
- Working knowledge of IFRS for SMEs, income tax and VAT.
- Computer savvy in Microsoft Office and accounting software, namely pastel and payroll.
- Experience in farming accounting practices and taxation.
- Ability to function independently and solve problems.
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Negotiating ability.
- Team leader, sense of responsibility and honesty.
Market related salary that will depend on candidate's qualification and experience level.

Job Description
- Flexible to work upto 4/5 nights per week.
- Typical working hours will be from 9pm to 7am
- Work as part of a team to ensure that the store is replenished to Smyths Toys standards and that these standards are maintained.
- Ensure that the store is kept clean and tidy and that all of the shelves are packed down correctly to avoid gaps.
- Ensuring that safety is always a priority for staff and customers, and adhering to manual handling guidelines.
Person Specification
