What will you do?
  • As a branch manager, you will be responsible for growing the customer base and revenue of Sanlam Retail Mass through developing and overseeing the execution of the retail branch strategy.
  • Guiding, integrating, and standardising the activities, goals and objectives of various Sales Consultants in the branch, in line with the strategy.
  • Leading a service delivery culture and eco-system within and outside of the branch to enable an optimal client experience.
  • Assuming responsibility for the successful day to day maintenance and management of the Retail branch. Responsible for Retail branch strategy development and business planning.
  • Ensure retail branch sales delivery and establish and drive a service culture.
  • Ensure compliance, quality, and risk management.
  • Responsible for all operational people practices relating to direct reports, in collaboration with the HR (talent management, performance management, individual development and growth, resolving grievances, leave allocation, capacity management, etc.).
  • Monthly planning and reporting of sales and service activities in the Branch.
  • Identify key internal and external stakeholders (Area Managers, Business Owners, activation sites, community forums, etc.) and determine effective engagement tactics that will contribute to building and maintaining relationships.
Education and Experience
  • Matric (Grade 12).
  • RE1 and RE5.
  • 120 Wealth Management credits OR tertiary qualification recognised by the FSCA.
  • Class of Business accreditation (annual).
  • Compliant with continuous professional development (CPD) current and past cycles.
  • A minimum of 5 years recent industry experience of which 3 years should be in any leadership capacity.
  • Service Management experience is essential.
  • Insurance sales experience.
  • Credit and lending experience.

Sales Delivery:

  • Gain and maintain an in-depth understanding of SRM product ranges.
  • Gain an understanding of the customer’s needs, financial goals and means, and provide the right product (or selection of products) that will satisfy the goals of the customer in the best and most affordable way possible.
  • Continuously update and inform customers of new products, or changes in existing products. Manage, review, and incorporate the implications of product changes on the customer’s portfolio accordingly.
  • Validate client details in line with product and regulatory requirements. Submit new business through the right channels.
  • Conduct due diligence on clients to identify and flag risks.
  • Manage own capacity to ensure daily appointments are being prioritised while allowing time for and capitalising on walk-in / non-appointment clients.

In-branch Client Service and Client Retention:

  • Responsible for servicing and managing all client profiles to ensure clients remain on the books.
  • Send payment reminders, conduct follow-ups, and remain in contact to address potential queries or to provide support.
  • Manage and report on NTUs (clients Not Taken Up) by putting controls in place, and taking corrective actions where required.
  • Manage persistency of client payments in favour of both the branch and the client.
  • Gain insight into client risk profiles to proactively identify where support will be required.
  • Consult with clients on alternative payment arrangements and ensure it gets processed through and noted on the right platforms.
  • Responsible for in-branch servicing in line with client experience standards:
  • Apply product knowledge to accurately guide clients through policy cancellations and provide alternative options.
  • Resolve various types of client queries in the branch as far as possible or escalate queries to the right stakeholders by using the existing escalation framework. Follow up on the status and continuously provide feedback to the client.

Quality, Compliance and Continuous Development:

  • Remain up to date with and continuously adhere to compliance and quality standards.
  • Keep up to date with own registration, product knowledge and maintenance of own CPD points.
  • Identify risks and flag potentially fraudulent activities.
  • Keep and store relevant records of advice.
  • Log all activities as per regulations and standard operating procedures, and provide data to relevant stakeholders to inform reporting and decision making

Qualification and Experience:

  • 1-year experience in a sales or marketing capacity
  • Experience within insurance branches an advantage

This role manages a team of financial and client relations consultants and all processes in a branch to ensure achievement of objectives and drive overall branch performance. Individually accountable, over periods of 1 day to 3 months for ensuring sales targets and objectives of the team are achieved.

Supports and motivates the consultant team in the branch to drive sales and service of insurance and lending products, as well as referrals and collections and effectively communicating and setting clear expectations on targets and required outcomes. Manages the branch as a profit centre, ensuring the appropriate balance of products sold, service and expenses. Manages and supervises the consultant team through effective performance appraisal, handling of disciplinary issues, and monitoring of staff attendance. Conducts manager reviews and ensures policies, procedures and company values are adhered to in all branch operations, and that there is a compliance of processes for audit purposes and deal proactively with any non-compliance. Ensures that consultants are properly trained and internal capabilities are developed through the identification of talent, ongoing informal and formal coaching and mentoring and the structuring of effective development plans focused on both sales and soft skills. Plans and monitors daily and future activities and progress to identify any impact on targets and productivity and ensure all operations run smoothly and efficiently. Maintains branch operations through effective expense and cost management in support of branch profitability. Ensures that all people resources, systems and equipment are in place, functional and comply with the corporate identity to promote professionalism and efficiency of the branch. Achieves superior customer service and client centric behaviour through resolving client queries and complaints promptly, professionally and effectively. Manages the relationship with internal & external stakeholders (RMM, i-Wyze, Octogen, PFA, etc.) and to effectively manage the referral process between business units. Proactively identifies new business or sales opportunities and actively and effectively market the products and services to ensure business growth.

Job Description

Vacant post available at Medleb Private Hospital for a Permanent Registered Nurse who will be reporting to the Hospital Manager. We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) who are NICU-trained to join our dedicated Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The ideal candidates will have a minimum of 3 years' hands-on NICU experience, demonstrating advanced clinical skills and a deep commitment to providing exceptional care for critically ill and premature newborns.

  1. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY

  2. Deliver specialized nursing care to neonates requiring intensive medical attention

  3. Monitor and assess the condition of newborns, administer medications and treatments as prescribed
  4. Operate and maintain neonatal life support equipment (ventilators, incubators, etc.)
  5. Collaborate closely with neonatologists, pediatricians, and allied healthcare professionals
  6. Educate and support families, offering clear communication on infant care and treatment plans
  7. Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive patient records
  8. Ensure compliance with hospital protocols and health and safety regulations
  9. Contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives within the NICU

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse with a valid license (SANC or equivalent regulatory body)
  • Completed NICU training/qualification or post-basic Neonatal Nursing Science
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience working in a Level II or III NICU setting
  • Proven ability to work in high-pressure, fast-paced environments
  • Excellent clinical judgment, attention to detail, and compassionate bedside manner
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • BLS and NRP certification required (ACLS/PALS an advantage)

· Evaluating employee labour hours and manage debit and credit hours

· Minimising unnecessary stock wastage and facilitating maintenance of equipment

Providing quality patient care by

· Identifying and ensuring staff undergo department specific micro-orientation

· Ensuring daily care rounds are conducted and investigating complaints

· Providing accurate, appropriate and adequate information to patients and family members during hospitalization

· Administering of medication in accordance to ethical, legal framework

· Review and comply with internal policies and protocols

· Interacting and communicating with a multi-disciplinary team

· Conducting in-service orientation on Unit specific preferences

Providing effective risk management (infection control) by

· Monitoring and implementing preventative measures to minimize risk

· Comply with ISO/DOH/ OSCH requirements in order to facilitate infection control

· Ensuring the effective functioning of equipment and instrumentation

· Ensuring effective and accurate record keeping

Conducting effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders

· Identifying doctor's preferences and stakeholders needs and implement in the working environment
