Job DescriptionKey Responsibilities May Include:
- Provide hands-on leadership by mentoring, coaching, and guiding employees, addressing employee relations issues, and fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Lead and enhance safety performance on shift, promoting a proactive safety culture through training, accident prevention, and rehabilitation programs, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Manage shift maintenance activities, resolving equipment breakdowns in coordination with the maintenance team to maintain uninterrupted plant operations.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives on shift, implementing best practices to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness across end to end operations.
- Monitor and manage the plant's operational costs and yield, working closely with the Plant Manager to optimize performance and contribute to the overall plant objectives.
- Address performance and attendance matters in collaboration with HR, ensuring that all plant staff meet operational expectations.
- Ensure full compliance with CHEP procedures and work instructions, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and in line with company standards and operational goals.
The Operations Supervisor will be responsible for all equipment processing activities as well as maintenance for the Plant/s under his/her control. The incumbent is responsible to develop and manage relationships with all 3rd party service providers as well as customers where onsite activities occur within their area of responsibility.
Key Requirements- Completed Diploma in Operations, Production, or Management.
- 3 to 5 years of production management experience in a unionised environment.
- Safety experience is mandatory, including exposure to:
- ISO standards
- GAP audits
- Occupational health and safety compliance
- Forklift driving ability is a bonus for emergencies

- Managing, reporting, investigation and close out of all quality and environmental incidents and deviations to standards in conjunction with the HOD’s/Unit Managers

Effective management of the Info Quest data management system, through:
- Training of staff in the use of Info Quest reporting system

The successful candidate will be responsible to provide leadership, technical direction and guidance to the Hospital Engineering function. This entails ensuring that the maintenance and operation of movable and immovable plant and equipment as well as execution of infrastructure and construction projects in the business is carried out in an effective, safe and compliant manner that is aligned to applicable best practices and legislation.
Critical OutputsEffectively manage relationships with the business and provide professional leadership, influence and two-way communication:
- Effectively manage the hospital engineering department, drive maintenance best practices to maximise overall plant and equipment efficiency (OPEE) and availability.
- Effectively manage all aspects of the team – includes; performance, recruitment, development and retention.
- Develop the engineering management capability and competence through training, coaching and mentorship in the department.
- Collaborate effectively with own peers, other functions and the business to; identify and prioritize opportunities, promote agreements on engineering project specifications and procedures, to mobilize resources and to deliver on all objectives.
- Drive strategic input and initiatives to maximise efficiencies - review of the utility costs (water, electricity, and steam), plant and equipment modification projects.
- Track and report functional metrics/ key performance indicators to identify and deliver on opportunities for improvement.
- Perform administrative functions – includes; reviewing and writing performance reports, document management, data analysis, validating expenditures, enforcing rules, and support decisions about key engineering projects.
- Effectively review, audit, monitor and evaluate performance of the engineering quality system.
- Prepare budgets and bids; drive contract negotiations and address any engineering project disputes
Develop and implement operations engineering best practices, policies, standards and safe work procedures:
- Conduct regular engineering policy implementation audits and effectively drive implementation of corrective actions.
- Effectively drive installation, testing, operating, maintenance and repair of plant and equipment.
Effective Implement the maintenance management strategy as cascaded by Group to optimize plant and equipment performance:
- Compile an equipment master plan and drive annual verification exercises.
- Establish equipment specifications set by original equipment manufacturers (OEEs)
- Supports rollout to hospital and effectively manage Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and effectively manage implementation thereof.
- Evaluate CMMS Tool utilization through conducting regular audits and data integrity assurance processes and report on compliance.
- Drive maintenance breakdown data collection, analyse trends, design long term solutions and improve equipment reliability.
- Provide input to the plant and equipment replacement plan, support prioritization of plan and monitor and evaluate performance.
- Evaluate plant and equipment failure and analyse root causes using best practices - Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Condition Monitoring and Diagnostics (CMD) etc.
Assume the responsibility of the Hospital GMR2.1:
- Drive compliance in respect of safety legislations – OHS Act, NEMA, R158, R187, and Construction regulation, SANS etc.
- Drive regular audits to ensure compliance.
- Draw up noncompliance records and drive corrective actions implementation
- Perform incident investigations, establish reporting criteria and drive reporting.
- Develop and roll out engineering safety campaigns ensure conduct verification processes to establish effectiveness.
Investigate industry technology, evaluate benefits, conduct business case appraisal and motivate funding.
Drive engineering projects delivery at hospital level:
- Develop a project baseline for engineering projects undertaken by the hospital.
- Working with project department; provide projects cost estimates, time and resource, project requirements and lay down the project execution plan
- Support the project plans, protocols, procedures, and methods to communicate project information and issues (including forms, templates, records-keeping and reporting), issued by business
- Manage project risk arising during project execution.
- Working with project department; analyze resource capacity plans and forecasts to manage and guide capacity availability for projects undertaken by the hospital.
Project performance tracking:
- Audit & track on-going projects at regular intervals to ensure projects are on course and follow approved methodologies.
- Working with head office projects department collate project status Information and update cycle of work plans including establishing project information dashboards that provide for clear projects status.
- Consolidate and analyse data collected from projects status information, compare to with baseline and communicate status to the hospital management review.
- Drive the implementation of corrective action as decided by management, through the Management of Change process (MOC).
- Gather and archive projects experiences, lessons learnt and reusable data to improve project management methods in the future
- Bachelor’s degree in either Mechanical or Electrical (Heavy Current) Engineering with a minimum of 2 years in operations or engineering maintenance and projects or,
- National Diploma in either of the above listed qualification with a minimum of 5 years in operations or engineering maintenance and projects or,
- Certificated engineer with GCC (factories) and a minimum of 5 years practical experience in the operation or engineering maintenance and projects.
- Practical experience in the hospital environment or similar environment is essential.
- Proven leadership and people management experience
- Knowledge of contracts negotiation and management, OHS Act regulation, facilities management, financial, project management and engineering procurement practices.
- Understanding of the private healthcare industry, its challenges and role players would be an advantage.

Our client in the Agricultural Sector is seeking a HR Manager to join their team. This position will suit an individual with at least 10 years of experience and an allrounder in terms of HR.

- Manage employee relations and develop procedures in line with the organisational strategy and culture.
- Manage misconduct, incapacity, dispute resolution and related procedures.
- Coordinate and supervise transactional HR functions.
- Provide guidance to HR clerks, i.e. updating employee records, managing payroll, filling vacancies.
- Coordinate training and guide supervisors on managing performance.
- Manage workforce planning and design.
- Talent acquisition.
- Design and write HR policies, procedures, offers and contracts of employment, remuneration, compensation and employee benefits.
- Performance and development.
- Control recruitment and selection practices.
- Streamline activities and promote the adequate use of systems.
- Identify needs/inefficiencies regarding IT related systems, data analysis and reports.
- Manage remuneration and budgets.
- Reinforce essential practices and behaviours.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Business Administration, Industrial Psychology, or related field
- An advanced degree in HR will be desirable.
- Minimum 7 to 10 years of experience in related areas
- Employment Equity (EEA2 and EEA4 compilation)
- Talent management practices and programs
- Employment law (BCEA, LRA, UIFA, SDA, SDLA, EEA, OHASA, COIDA, POPI, etc.)
- SIZA compliance
- Fair understanding of agricultural production and supply chain
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- SAQ and audits
- An advanced level of English is non-negotiable
- Thorough understanding of local and national laws involving employment, HR, and HR policies
- General business acumen
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- High capacity to represent the brand
- Ability to multitask
- Be naturally calm and focused

SUMMARY:
An established manufacturer of specialised agricultural biological products is seeking an experienced Technical Sales Representative to be responsible for managing sales operations and strategy execution in designated areas, including agent relations, admin support, stock management, and in-orchard product applications.
POSITION INFO:
Minimum requirements for the role:
- Must have a tertiary qualification in Agriculture
- AVCASA / BASOS certification with practical experience of crop protection will be advantageous
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in agricultural sales and marketing as well as technical expertise
- Knowledge of the export fruit industry value chain and the influence of phytosanitary pests, plant diseases and maximum residual levels in this industry is essential
- Must have proficient computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, Word etc., and GIS skills are an advantage)
- Fully bilingual in Afrikaans and English (Read, Write, and Speak)
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel extensively
- Managing business activities in the market and helping execute strategies for the designated areas.
- Pursuing annual sales targets set for key distribution agents, customers, crops, and varieties, while assisting in the introduction of new products into the designated areas.
- Handling administration tasks, including area budgeting, forecasting and reporting, and supporting sales operations such as depot and stock management and documentation.
- Managing relationships with agents and industry stakeholders and growing the agent network.
- Conducting in-orchard applications of specific products.
