Responsibilities
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance inspections according to prescriptive schedule
- Repair mechanical and electrical breakdowns in buildings, packhouse machinery/equipment, water treatment and sewage plant as well as site work
- Assist with planning of and the execution of annual preventative maintenance program
- Disassemble and replace defective mechanical and/or electrical equipment or worn parts and reassemble equipment
- Supervise a team of up to four sub-ordinates
- Keep working area and equipment clean and safe
Requirements:
- Grade 12
- N3 Millwright preferably or N3 Fitter and Turner
- In depth knowledge of the mechanical workings of machinery and equipment
- Knowledge of the electrical workings of machinery and equipment
- Preferably 2-3 years' experience within a production facility or similar Fruit packaging environment
- Previous experience working with computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS) will be advantageous
- Computer skills (MS Office and more specific Excel (Basic) and Outlook
- Good understanding of the OHS Act, regulations, and relevant codes
- Willingness to work nightshift during season, be on standby and work overtime

Responsibilities:
- Monitor the accurate capturing of bin transactions on Vitrax stock system in area of responsibility.
- Oversee the accurate allocation of bin stock in area of responsibility to production or RA/CA cold stores.
- Assign correct bin handling procedures for bin tipping, full bin consignments and pre-sorted work orders to employees.
- Supervise a team of 15-20 people and ensure the effective use of disciplinary procedures and/or counselling when needed, identify training needs and communicate all necessary information to employees
