About Health Coaches
Health Coaches offers a service to promote sustained lifestyle change and support through behavioural change, emotional support, benefit navigation, goal setting and tracking in order to decrease the cost of health care and improve a member’s quality of life.
Key purpose
To effectively coach eligible members in various programs ensuring that:
- The coaching program outcomes and objectives are achieved.
- Members achieve sustainable health and lifestyle improvements in addition to their personal key objectives.
Key outputs
- Applying various coaching techniques to allocated members to ensure program and personal goals are achieved
- Building positive relationships to ensure successful outcomes
- Effective planning and organizing of schedules and sessions to optimize program adherence and completion rates.
- Assist members with benefit navigation, referrals and activations to optimize benefits available to them under their scheme and non-scheme products.
- Health and Lifestyle education, tracking and monitoring to achieve sustainable improvements.
- Educate members on how to manage certain chronic diseases to avoid relapses, hospital admissions and disease progression with the necessary referral to the relevant health care professional and or other therapeutic interventions.
- Accurate tracking, reporting and capturing of coaching sessions.
- Meeting set targets: productivity, quality, customer satisfaction scores.

About the Role
As a dietitian health coach (which we also refer to as a client success manager), you will serve as the backbone of our client experience. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure every client feels supported, empowered and on track to achieve their weight loss goals. You’ll interact virtually with clients, combining technical expertise with a personalised touch.
Your day-to-day will include:
- Capturing client details and setting up customised communications via our CRM system integrated with WhatsApp.
- Crafting engaging, informative, and motivational messages to educate and inspire clients on their wellness journey.
- Monitoring client progress and offering guidance.
- Building authentic relationships by remembering and incorporating personal milestones (e.g. new jobs, babies, or moves) into interactions.
Qualifications
To excel in this role, you’ll need:
- Bachelor of Science in Dietetics or Bachelor in Dietetics (4 years study + 1 year community service)
- Registration with the HPCSA (independent practising dietitian)
- Experience/courses in behaviour change using technology as a medium is advantageous.
- Experience/courses in overweight, obesity, and chronic conditions (specifically hypertension, cardiovascular disease, pre-diabetes, and the diabetic population) are advantageous.
- Experience/courses in anything fitness-related related is a plus.

About you (What you'll be doing)Our health coaching team is expanding and we are on the look out for dietitians to help us serve our patients. You will be joining our growing team of Health Coaches in South Africa and will work directly with our team in Australia to serve our patients.
As you will be supporting our Australian patients alongside our Australian Health Coaches, initially you will be required to work hours allowing crossover with Australian timezones such as starting at 6am local time (with the opportunity for flexibility in the future). As a Dietitian in the team, you will be responsible for helping us shape the clinical guidance and strategy about how to manage diet and nutrition. In short, the role includes:
- Providing 1:1 and group coaching and advice (with a focus on obesity management)
- Directing patient queries and feedback to the relevant internal channel
- Working in a cross functional and multidisciplinary team to triage, respond and escalate communications from patients to relevant teams to minimise patient safety risks
- Surfacing patient insights to the wider business
In this role you will work with our clinical team, patient operations team and growth teams to ensure our patients receive a high quality of support and care. This role requires a high level of empathy, the ability to prioritise simultaneous activities and communications with multiple patients while ensuring high attention to detail, and a patient-centric-oriented approach. You will be interacting directly with real people dealing with real health issues and medical diagnoses and must be able to identify, respond to, and escalate interactions and situations appropriately in accordance with guidelines and for exceptions.This role will be important to the continued success of Eucalyptus and will filter important information back through the rest of the team so we can continue to improve the health of our patients.
About you (Who you are)- Dietitian specific: Registered Dietitian (registered with HCPSA: Health Professions Council of SA), 1-3 years of dietitian-led coaching services and completion of relevant ongoing CPD requirements.
