We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Vehicle Service Advisor to join a reputable dealership team in Pietermaritzburg. As a key liaison between the workshop and customers, the Service Advisor ensures that service and repair work is communicated effectively and carried out efficiently to the highest standards.
Salary: R60,000 – R70,000 per month.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greet customers and accurately record their vehicle service and repair requirements
- Prepare job cards and liaise with the workshop team
- Provide accurate estimates for service and repair costs
- Update customers on the progress of their vehicles and manage expectations
- Conduct final quality checks and deliver vehicles back to customers
- Ensure excellent customer service and satisfaction
- Upsell additional services and products where appropriate
Requirements:
- Matric Certificate (Grade 12)
- 2+ years of experience in a similar role within the motor industry
- Strong knowledge of automotive systems and repair processes
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks
- Proficiency with dealership management systems
- Valid South African driver’s license

The responsibilities of a Service Manager include the following tasks:
• Drive the achievement of productivity, efficiency, and customer service level index goals and objectives. < r>• Manage a profitable workshop against budget, including analyzing workshop performance data e.g. productivity of technical staff, labour rates, the efficiency of the workshop, expense monitoring, and control, etc. < r>• Manage escalated workshop (technical) problems accordingly, including: < r>• Escalation of technical/product-related issues to Original equipment manufacturer. < r>• Ensuring continuous support and guidance to technical staff throughout technical problem-solving stages. < r>• Ensuring future corrective action plans to address various technical problems are implemented. < r>• Ensure accurate workshop capacity planning according to productive and available staff is done. < r>• Control (WIP) work in progress on all vehicles in the workshop daily to maintain an acceptable level and manage end-to-end throughput, maintaining awareness of the status of all vehicles. < r>• Achieve industry-leading standards of customer care, process efficiency, and cost control. < r>• Exceed all targets and labour sales objectives through efficient workshop operations management. < r>• Ensure efficient equipment and asset control, and administration processes. < r>• Ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction, service level achievement, and customer retention. < r>• Responsible for the annual budget of the Service Department. < r>• Manage risk (financial and non–financial) within the department.
