Now Boarding is a specialist digital product design studio based in Cape Town. We partner with startups, scale-ups, and established businesses to bring exceptional digital products to life. Our work spans industries like fintech, proptech, edtech, and healthtech. Past and present clients include names like SnapScan, SwissBorg, Private Property, AutoTrader, Everything.Insure, Averly, and Betterhome Group. We also have a number of stealth projects currently in studio, exploring how to incorporate AI technology into interfaces in natural, intuitive ways.

The RoleWe're looking for a UI/UX Designer who’s comfortable designing visually-engaging, user-friendly interfaces and shaping product experiences from the ground up. While this role leans into both UX skill and UI execution, strong visual design capability is essential. You should be able to create polished, modern interfaces that support the needs of the end user while also looking fantastic.
You’ll join a small, focused design team that thrives on collaboration and clear thinking. Our culture supports independence but we work with strong, established structures and processes to maintain quality and ensure designers have the space to focus. We work at a fast pace but never at the expense of clarity, feedback, and purposeful design.
What You'll Be Doing- Designing end-to-end product experiences
- Creating wireframes, user flows and prototypes for complex interactions
- Conceptualising new UIs from scratch and building design systems
- Crafting modern, on-brand visual designs with high attention to detail
- Visualising information clearly through layouts, dashboards and UI components
- Working closely with developers and project managers throughout delivery
- Contributing to internal design systems and reusable component libraries
- Has 3 - 5 years of design experience, ideally with agency or multi-client exposure
- Has a strong portfolio showcasing both UX thinking and refined UI design
- Is highly proficient in Figma (or similar)
- Has a deep understanding of layout, typography, colour theory and responsive design
