Summary
We are looking for a Payroll Implementation Manager to lead the successful implementation of clients on our Deel local payroll system. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of payroll processes, compliance, and international regulations, and be able to guide Deel’s most important clients through the critical payroll onboarding process. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that our payroll processes are efficient, compliant, and aligned with our business objectives.
What you'll do:
Support Payroll Migrations : Lead and support end-to-end payroll migration projects from local, in-country payroll providers to Deel’s Local Payroll (EOR and Global Payroll models). Ensure data accuracy, process integrity, and timely delivery throughout each migration lifecycle.
Operational Enablement : Conduct detailed country-specific training and knowledge transfer sessions for Deel Payroll Operations teams, ensuring they are fully equipped to manage local payrolls post-migration using Deel’s platform.
Compliance Coordination : Partner closely with Deel’s Compliance team to secure approval and validation of the payroll engine, ensuring all local legal, tax, and regulatory requirements are fully met.
Testing & Quality Assurance : Act as a key contributor during the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) phase of payroll builds. Develop and execute test cases, validate payroll outputs, and troubleshoot discrepancies in coordination with cross-functional teams.
Post-Migration Support : Provide ongoing support to the Payroll Operations team following migration to ensure smooth transition, issue resolution, and process stabilization.
Documentation & Process Mapping : Create and maintain comprehensive country-specific documentation, including payroll workflows, compliance requirements, and operational procedures to support both internal teams and audit-readiness.

Key Qualifications:

Thorough Documentation: Create comprehensive documentation for requirements, configurations, and project changes. Maintain an up-to-date repository to support knowledge transfer.
Configure Deel Local Payroll: Translate client requirements into software configurations, customizing settings for country-specific regulations, tax laws, and benefits. Configure pay rules, earning/deduction codes, employee groups, and security roles.
Seamless Data Migration: Design and execute data migration strategies, cleansing and validating data for compatibility. Collaborate with client IT teams for extraction, mapping, and test migrations, overseeing the entire process.
Parallel Runs: Lead side-by-side payroll comparisons between the client’s legacy system and Deel Local Payroll to validate accuracy. Investigate discrepancies, align input data, and ensure outputs match expected results.
First Live Run Support: Guide the client through their first payroll run, resolving issues in real time and ensuring compliance.
Manage your client portfolio to ensure timely, high-quality payroll implementations, while consistently meeting your monthly billable hours goal .
This role ensures clients leverage Deel Local Payroll for optimized payroll operations, enhanced compliance, and a superior employee experience.

Summary
We are looking for a Payroll Implementation Manager to lead the successful implementation of clients on our Deel local payroll system. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of payroll processes, compliance, and international regulations, and be able to guide Deel’s most important clients through the critical payroll onboarding process. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that our payroll processes are efficient, compliant, and aligned with our business objectives.
What you'll do:
- Support Payroll Migrations: Lead and support end-to-end payroll migration projects from local, in-country payroll providers to Deel’s Local Payroll (EOR and Global Payroll models). Ensure data accuracy, process integrity, and timely delivery throughout each migration lifecycle.
- Operational Enablement: Conduct detailed country-specific training and knowledge transfer sessions for Deel Payroll Operations teams, ensuring they are fully equipped to manage local payrolls post-migration using Deel’s platform.
- Compliance Coordination: Partner closely with Deel’s Compliance team to secure approval and validation of the payroll engine, ensuring all local legal, tax, and regulatory requirements are fully met.
- Testing & Quality Assurance: Act as a key contributor during the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) phase of payroll builds. Develop and execute test cases, validate payroll outputs, and troubleshoot discrepancies in coordination with cross-functional teams.
- Post-Migration Support: Provide ongoing support to the Payroll Operations team following migration to ensure smooth transition, issue resolution, and process stabilization.
- Documentation & Process Mapping: Create and maintain comprehensive country-specific documentation, including payroll workflows, compliance requirements, and operational procedures to support both internal teams and audit-readiness.
- Future SaaS Implementations: Potentially contribute to future SaaS payroll product rollouts and implementations, bringing expertise in platform-based payroll transformation and operational scalability.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
- 3+ years of proven experience in payroll system implementation
- Strong understanding of country-specific payroll laws and compliance standards.
- Experience with various payroll systems and software.
- Ability and interest in client-facing project management
- Project management certification (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
