SAP FICO Support Analyst

Location: Cape Town Department: Finance Reporting To: Regional Executive – Finance Position Type: Full-time in Office – Diep River

Salary – R45k – R55k

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled FICO Support Analyst to join our IT team. In this role, you will provide first- and second-line support for SAP FICO modules, ensuring smooth business operations and financial processes. You’ll play a key part in analyzing and resolving issues, enhancing system functionality, and supporting continuous improvement in financial applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide daily support and troubleshooting for SAP FICO modules (FI-GL, AP, AR, AA, CO, etc.).
• Resolve incidents, service requests, and change requests within agreed SLAs.
• Collaborate with finance and business teams to gather requirements and analyze system-related issues.
• Coordinate with SAP functional and technical teams for escalated support.
• Perform configuration changes and testing to implement improvements.
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities from a system support perspective.
• Document solutions, processes, and procedures for future reference.

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance , Information Systems, or a related field.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience in SAP FICO support or consulting.
• Strong understanding of financial processes and SAP FICO integration with other modules (MM, SD, etc.).
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Familiarity with ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira) is an advantage.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA is a plus.

Our client in Pretoria is recruiting for an SAP FICO Consultant (Expert) to join their team.

Responsibilities:

1. Understand, enhance and support AP/AR processes and functionalities.
2. Understand, enhance and support Document Management processes.
3. Documentation of as-is and to-be business processes.
4. Coordinate with other module SAP Consultants for Integration requirements.
5. Provide System Proposal/System Design Specifications to the Technical team for any Customized development objects.
6. Preparation of test cases and user manuals.
7. Analyse and solve SAP Module issues.
8. Conduct SAP Module process configuration.
9. Update and maintain all SAP Module functional documentation.
10. Integration between other SAP and non-SAP Solutions.
11. Conduct Unit tests, Integration tests, and System Integration security tests.
12. Proactively propose solutions to improve the support of (new) business processes.
13. Support the functional team with issues and provide a solutions-based approach.

Qualifications/Experience:

1. Bachelor’s degree in IT or Accounting.
2. 8 years+ experience in SAP FICO Functional Consulting (SAP S/4 HANA advantageous).
3. Focus on SAP AP/AR (Accounts Payables/Accounts Receivables Processes) 4+ years.
4. Good understanding of cross-system integration processes for transferring electronic documents.
5. Experience with IDOCs and XML messages.

Advantageous Skills Requirements:

1. Experienced in using Agile Tools such as Confluence and JIRA.
2. Experienced in using Test Tools such as HP ALM and JIRA (X-Ray).
3. Experience in Test-Automation (Tool Tosca).
4. Experienced in Agile Methodology.
5. Flexibility to work some weekends/shifts or longer hours if required.
6. Flexibility to travel abroad.
7. German speaking (advantageous).

We are currently recruiting for an SAP FICO Functional Consultant to configure and test SAP and other 3rd party FICO functions and module solutions, as well as troubleshooting and resolution of technical problems.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

• 3+ years SAP design and configuration experience
• 2+ years Agile experience (e.g. sprint planning, stand-up)

SCOPE OF WORK:

• Write functional and test specifications, as well as training and testing material
