ActivitiesUnder the supervision of the Legal Manager TotalEnergies Renewables, your main responsibilities will be to:
- Anticipate the risks and legal needs, alert, advise and propose appropriate solutions;
- Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of forms of agreements (confidentiality agreements, letters of intent; memorandum of understanding , term sheets, partnership agreements; joint development agreement, shareholders agreements, EPC contracts, O&M agreements; land agreements, acquisition and sale of assets, share purchase agreements, project finance agreements, etc.);
- Assist the business development team to prepare legal documentation for the response to calls for tenders for renewable projects and follow the legal aspects of such projects once awarded, including working with internal and external stakeholders on various legal aspects;
- Support the business development, project development, construction and asset management teams on contract and legal matters;
- Analyze and interpret new regulations guiding the Renewable Energy Industry within SA;
- Support the Legal Manager with the coordination and supervision of workstreams with appointed local country panel of external law firms in accordance with TotalEnergies group policies;
- Exercise contractual and legal due diligence pertaining to claims and litigation in liaison with the Legal Manager;
- Assist the Legal Manager with legal and contractual reporting requirements;
- Company secretarial and general administrative support;
- Contribute to the development of training and guidelines to the operational teams;
- Maintain electronics contractual and legal database/s;
- Ensure compliance with Group corporate policies applicable within your field of responsibility;
- Implement a culture of compliance and integrity; and
- Any other duties as assigned by the line manager.
LLB or BCom Law with further studies in business.
Minimum 5 to 6 years’ experience in private practice or inhouse legal advisor with strong knowledge of the South African IPP Power and Renewable projects.
Experience within commercial and finance department within a multinational company is desirable.
Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize work and work effectively under pressure to deliver under short timeframes.
Pragmatic, solution oriented, you will have to be well organized, must be able to adapt quickly to the changes in the projects environment and to various complex.
Strong interpersonal skills are required as you will frequently collaborate with various third parties as well as with peers in other teams across the TotalEnergies Group.
