Requirements:

BSc / BEng. / BTech in Electrical or Mechatronic Engineering
4 - 10 or more years experience
Familiar with, and able to interpret, typical substation primary and secondary / control plant design drawings.
Experience in network modelling and analysis in DIgSILENT PowerFactory (PSS/E, ETAP or similar).
Experience performing grid code compliance studies, grid impact studies and / or network planning studies.
Knowledge of the South African transmission and distribution systems and grid code.
Experience in performing insulation coordination, earthing, protection coordination or arc flash studies (advantageous)
Postgraduate degree (advantageous)
Experience as owner's engineer on energy or other infrastructure projects (advantageous)

Duties and Responsibilities:

Grid impact and grid code compliance studies for power generation projects
Power quality assessments/ investigations
Transmission and distribution network planning
Project management (financial and resource management)
Maintaining relationships with existing clients and identifying and engaging new clients

A JSE-listed client in Pretoria requires the expertise of a qualified Engineer specializing in Electrical power systems.

Duties & Responsibilities

Lead, implement, and manage the maintenance strategy.
Implement and manage an engineering asset life cycle management system.
Develop and review operations and maintenance policies and procedures for improved operational efficiency.
Develop, review, and enhance the engineering asset assessment system.
Identify and compile operational training material.
Approve designs for building specifications and new technology implementations, including applicable factory acceptance testing.
Manage equipment/plant condition reports.
Manage new contracts with equipment instructions, outlining OEM requirements, and maintenance strategies.
Manage the database in SAP through master data.
Perform/lead specific equipment/plant failure/incident investigations, reporting and ensuring compliance with legal requirements concerning statutory and regulatory requirements.
Provide support with breakdowns and site reinstatement.

Qualifications

Degree in Electrical Engineering (Heavy Current) or Electrical Trade with National-N-Diploma.
SAP CMMS experience.
OHS compliance & SANS 10142-1 & 2.
Minimum of 10 years experience.

Package & Remuneration

R 750 000 - R 1 000 000 - Annually

Responsibilities: Provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise to resolve process-related issues and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE). Evaluate short comings and areas for development in technical team and make recommendations to improve Check and verify installation designs and installation methods, fault levels & equipment specifications for projects when required Assist with designs where required8 Ensure that all designs incorporate the appropriate safety standards and that all activities comply with company and statutory procedures Research of new technologies, materials & processes relevant to our business Technically conversant with all aspects of a problem/solution to supervise and/or co-ordinate technical investigations by internal parties Collaborate with engineering, production and quality assurance teams to develop & implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions Customer liaison, MV project design, proposals and sign-off Assist with MV & LV projects Assist with generator projects Participate in PV and battery storage projects Participate in cross-functional teams to drive root cause analysis, corrective actions and preventative measures Determines project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards.
