Job Description

The incumbent will be responsible and accountable for the facilitation, guiding, directing, consolidation, monitoring and status reporting of SANBS Strategic Workforce Planning (SWP) processes, initiatives, actions and implementation plans.

Key Performance Areas

KPA 1: Direct and facilitate, guide & drive SWP in SANBS

  5. Close working relationship with Learning & Development to ensure the training matrix is active and supports all the SWP processes and actions.

KPA 3: Management of the SWP Annual Scenario Planning processes

  2. Develop and submit reports detailing the link to business performance and quantify impact.
  3. Develop reports associated with the 5-year strategic plan time horizon of the organization.

KPA 6: Up-to-date, accurate data and information management for SWP

  1. Implement and ensure all information utilized on the SWP system and/or database/s is up-to-date and accurate.
  2. Quality assurance checks and audits of information on a regular basis to ensure accuracy, relevancy and up-to-date information.
  3. Ensure a procedure to maintain all information sources utilized effectively.
  4. Develop appropriate and efficient systems to ensure accurate data management.
  5. Interpret the SANBS workforce data and provide recommendations to senior leadership.

KPA 7: SWP Stakeholder Management

  1. Support a consistent and common understanding of SWP across SANBS by developing communications for utilization by the Executives and Managers.
  2. Draft SWP messaging and communication to support SWP implementation.
  3. Drive change management to ensure strategic alignment with all relevant stakeholders in the process.

KPA 8: Risk Management

  1. Identify potential early warning SWP risks and propose mitigating actions for approval and implementation.
  2. Assist and support internal and external auditors by submitting correct data and reports.
  3. Ensure organization-wide adherence to SWP policy and procedures.
  4. Integrate SWP risks into the broader organizational strategic risk register.

KPA 9: Continuous Improvement and quality management

  1. Identify opportunities to improve SWP and business processes at appropriate intervals.
  2. Proactively identify opportunities and potential synergies across the business with skills planning and integration to talent mapping processes.
  3. Incorporate SWP opportunities into the SANBS quality management system.
  4. Track and monitor process improvements actions.

KPA 10: SWP Governance

JOB SUMMARY:

Operations Planning Engineers (OPE) are a part of the Operations Planning Team in the Transmission Control Center (TCC) and work to ensure safe and reliable operation of the Integrated Transmission System by providing efficient analysis and coordination of clearance requests throughout Georgia. The OPE supports the Work Request process by evaluating transmission system clearances for system impact and conducting the associated transmission studies to ensure Bulk Electric System reliability. The OPE also supports Project Management, Transmission Maintenance & Support and Construction by developing operational workarounds for major projects while assisting in the coordination of multiple clearances. In addition, the OPE supports the System Operator daily by performing contingency modeling as needed during peak conditions or significant system events.

Operations Planners also work with a wide range of stakeholders to shape the design and integration of transmission facilities, solar and battery interconnections, large customer sites, and other major projects. Operations Planning function is critical to providing safe operating conditions for field personnel by ensuring sound scheduling and analytical practices for work requests are followed.

The position requires in-depth knowledge of the power system and GPC databases and tools, as well as expertise in power flow analysis, transmission switching, protective relaying, and facility ratings. The successful candidate will gain extensive knowledge of Transmission System Operations and will build strong working relationships throughout Power Delivery, other cross-functional areas, and with external stakeholders. The successful candidate will have opportunities to train and develop in several areas of System Operations including Operations Planning, Solar and Battery Integration, Real-time Operations, Transmission Switching and Storm Restoration, Floor Support, and other areas.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills )

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Engineering (Electrical) degree or comparable power system experience preferred.

  • Experience in one or more Transmission areas (Operations, Planning, Construction, Protection & Control, Project Management, Maintenance, EMS/Operations Support, Substation Integration & Automation, Fault Analysis/Power Quality, Facility Ratings) is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Desired: Knowledge of power system analysis and modeling, T&D switching and clearance practices, NERC and FERC compliance requirements, construction and maintenance practices related to clearances, customer needs related to clearances and restoration, fault analysis, and/or facility ratings.

  • Desired: Experience with GPC operating tools such as STOMP, EMS, TransMap, GPC storm and system alert practices, Georgia ITS processes and procedures, Redbook, and/or Section 0

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct system operation planning studies using Power Network Analysis (PNA) and Power System Simulator for Engineering (PSSE) to evaluate near-term, one-month-out, and long-term clearances associated with maintenance and construction projects. Work closely with the prearrange team in the Work Request review process.

  • Provide daily support to the System Operator by performing contingency modeling and analysis as needed and support restoration efforts during storms, Energy Emergency Alerts, and significant system events.

  • Facilitate completion of major maintenance and construction projects by working collaboratively with the generating plants, TMCs, ITS Participants, PCC, and other stakeholders.

  • Provide Engineering Support through reviewing outages, providing storm support during high volume events, developing subject matter expertise on various tools and NERC standards, engaging ongoing and periodic projects that enhance operations.

  • Assist project leads with scheduling of multiple clearances on major projects. Attend pre-engineering and pre-construction meetings throughout the state of Georgia as requested to ensure that operational issues are addressed.

  • Shape operating processes and procedures to promote design and integration of transmission facilities, solar and battery interconnections, large customer sites and other major projects.

JOB SUMMARY:

Operations Planning Engineers (OPE) are a part of the Operations Planning Team in the Transmission Control Center (TCC) and work to ensure safe and reliable operation of the Integrated Transmission System by providing efficient analysis and coordination of clearance requests throughout Georgia. The OPE supports the Work Request process by evaluating transmission system clearances for system impact and conducting the associated transmission studies to ensure Bulk Electric System reliability. The OPE also supports Project Management, Transmission Maintenance & Support and Construction by developing operational workarounds for major projects while assisting in the coordination of multiple clearances. In addition, the OPE supports the System Operator daily by performing contingency modeling as needed during peak conditions or significant system events.

Operations Planners also work with a wide range of stakeholders to shape the design and integration of transmission facilities, solar and battery interconnections, large customer sites, and other major projects. Operations Planning function is critical to providing safe operating conditions for field personnel by ensuring sound scheduling and analytical practices for work requests are followed.

The position requires in-depth knowledge of the power system and GPC databases and tools, as well as expertise in power flow analysis, transmission switching, protective relaying, and facility ratings. The successful candidate will gain extensive knowledge of Transmission System Operations and will build strong working relationships throughout Power Delivery, other cross-functional areas, and with external stakeholders. The successful candidate will have opportunities to train and develop in several areas of System Operations including Operations Planning, Solar and Battery Integration, Real-time Operations, Transmission Switching and Storm Restoration, Floor Support, and other areas.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills )

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Engineering (Electrical) degree or comparable power system experience preferred.

  • Experience in one or more Transmission areas (Operations, Planning, Construction, Protection & Control, Project Management, Maintenance, EMS/Operations Support, Substation Integration & Automation, Fault Analysis/Power Quality, Facility Ratings) is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Desired: Knowledge of power system analysis and modeling, T&D switching and clearance practices, NERC and FERC compliance requirements, construction and maintenance practices related to clearances, customer needs related to clearances and restoration, fault analysis, and/or facility ratings.

  • Desired: Experience with GPC operating tools such as STOMP, EMS, TransMap, GPC storm and system alert practices, Georgia ITS processes and procedures, Redbook, and/or Section 0

  • Desired: Skilled in Project Management with ability to coordinate high volumes of complex projects with diverse internal and external stakeholders.

  • Role is responsible for storm support which may include working shift during severe weather events. This role involves occasional travel (<10%), typically not requiring overnight stays.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct system operation planning studies using Power Network Analysis (PNA) and Power System Simulator for Engineering (PSSE) to evaluate near-term, one-month-out, and long-term clearances associated with maintenance and construction projects. Work closely with the prearrange team in the Work Request review process.

  • Provide daily support to the System Operator by performing contingency modeling and analysis as needed and support restoration efforts during storms, Energy Emergency Alerts, and significant system events.

  • Facilitate completion of major maintenance and construction projects by working collaboratively with the generating plants, TMCs, ITS Participants, PCC, and other stakeholders.

  • Provide Engineering Support through reviewing outages, providing storm support during high volume events, developing subject matter expertise on various tools and NERC standards, engaging ongoing and periodic projects that enhance operations.

  • Assist project leads with scheduling of multiple clearances on major projects. Attend pre-engineering and pre-construction meetings throughout the state of Georgia as requested to ensure that operational issues are addressed.

  • Shape operating processes and procedures to promote design and integration of transmission facilities, solar and battery interconnections, large customer sites and other major projects.

To ensure that ATS is adequately staffed with the right skills at the required competence levels. To ensure that all ATS personnel is licensed and that licenses are maintained to be able to perform their duties in compliance with the CAR (Civil Aviation Regulation) 65 Licensing requirements. To manage the 24/7 RUS office to ensure that ATSUs have rosters and that rosters are published to ensure all operational shifts are covered. To ensure that the training pipeline is delivered in line with the HC strategy and the triennial Permission submission to the ATNS Regulating Committee. To ensure compliance of all capacity planning activities with relevant regulatory and legislative frameworks, and ATNS policies and processes governing Operations.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Capacity Planning: Ensure that ATS is adequately staffed with the right skills at the required competence levels. Manage the 24/7 RUS office to ensure that ATSUs have rosters and that rosters are published. Ensure optimal utilization of staff through effective deployment. Determine staffing needs and engage with the ATA to determine training requirements. Ensure compliance with South African Civil Aviation Regulations and Technical Standards.
  2. Governance, Risks, Compliance & Reporting: Ensure compliance with regulatory and legislative requirements. Continuously monitor and measure compliance of the function to all ATNS policies, processes, and procedures. Prepare quarterly and ad hoc reports as required.
  3. General Management of the Section: Drive delivery of required Capacity Planning objectives, projects, and initiatives. Manage and coordinate RUS staff and licensing personnel to deliver required targets and objectives.
  4. Stakeholder Relationship Management: Build and maintain relationships with all relevant stakeholders, including ATA and ATSUs. Participate in ATNS user consultation forums and Operations coordination meetings.
  5. Financial Management: Participate in the development and management of the Capacity Planning section budget. Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
  6. People Management: Manage employees in accordance with HC policies. Ensure proper onboarding of new employees. Monitor time and attendance of subordinates. Drive employee engagement and retention.
Minimum Requirements
  1. Air traffic control qualification (aerodrome control, or approach control, or area control)
  2. Tertiary qualification in HRD or equivalent

Senior Legal Specialist within the Financial Planning and Wealth industry with an LLB, Postgraduate Diploma Financial Planning and preferably CFP, with minimum 10 years’ experience in the Financial Services Industry, required to participate in the enhancement of the advice process and digital financial advice tool utilising financial planning experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Deal with daily tactical and legal matters
  • Implement regulatory change required in Distribution
  • Ensure proactive technical support to advisers is running efficiently
  • Continuous interaction with marketing, distribution and other divisional teams
  • Undertake strategic research and provide strategic proposals, on topics as requested by and agreed with Distribution Exco as the subject matter expert (SME) on technical financial advisory matters (e.g., EB, s42, HNW product offering etc.)
  • Process owner (non-digital) of Wealth Advice Process – define and document requirements based on business needs for digital advice project
  • As SME, support the digital advice team with practical suggestions and logical rules to guide and monitor advice to clients
  • Provide technical support to advisers, TAS colleagues, other Distribution teams (including Marketing) on proactive and reactive basis
  • Technical support to advisers/colleagues/regional distribution teams on advice process system related queries/issues
  • Regularly engage with the Public Policy and Regulatory Affairs (PPARA) team to understand the impact of regulatory changes identified by PPARA on Distribution and determine, assess and furnish proposals on how such impact can be managed and mitigated within the Distribution network with the support of standardised processes, standardised documents and systems
  • Represent TAS on distribution/advice and technical matters both within TAS and non-TAS related committees / forums
  • Define and lead the fiduciary process, chair the Fiduciary Technical committee and provide fiduciary support into the distribution activities of Distribution Wealth Review and improve Fiduciary processes, policies, local & offshore provider services and IT support systems
  • Responsible for CPD accredited training
  • Effective management of direct reporting staff
