What You’ll Do For The Brand

  • Manage, lead and oversee the design pod team.
  • Manage the liaison between pod heads and other creative HODs to ensure collaboration on project start-up.

  • Present creative concepts to the broader business teams and management.

  • Oversee design progress against schedule, priority, brief and deadlines. Provide feedback and seek any missing information from job requestor, in order to complete the job.
  • Ensure 360 campaign kick start meetings take place in order to conceptualize the campaign artwork required and understand the full scope of the job.
  • Review, approve and present all creative work generated by the design pod team members, prior to creative services internal management approval and sending onto the requestor.
  • Ensure that the brand guide and brand standards as well as legal requirements are always adhered to.
  • Have a strong understanding and opinion on illustration, typography, layout, powerful copy and what makes a good graphic design
  • Find proactive solutions for design team challenges.
  • Ensure that the design files and stock library are maintained.
  • Be an inspiration to the team while providing them with mentorship and career development.
  • Ensure that design specs are aligned to the requirement of the job, and it is correctly print-ready.
  • Keep up to date with design trends, training courses or webinars relevant to the department’s growth. Share and implement these trends where relevant.

  • Proficient in Photoshop and Lightroom.
  • Copywriting.
  • Styling, Art or Design experience an advantage.

The working hours are 9.30 am to 4.30 pm – Mondays to Fridays.

Junior Digital Marketing & Graphic Design Specialist Role

Overview: This role is perfect for someone who thrives at the intersection of creativity and digital strategy. You will work closely with the Head of Marketing in the creation and management of all digital marketing and design efforts across multiple platforms and touchpoints, ensuring Innovation City’s brand remains bold, consistent, and engaging.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and schedule engaging content aligned with our brand voice and strategic goals
  • Plan and execute paid campaigns (LinkedIn Ads, Facebook Business Suite)
  • Monitor and report on analytics and performance insights across channels
  • Drive community engagement through timely interaction and digital conversations
  • Design and manage Innovation City’s weekly newsletter via Mailchimp Handle event ticketing setup, management, and tracking for all Innovation City events

Graphic Design & Content Creation:

  • Design all marketing collateral for online and offline use, including event branding, signage, and presentations
  • Create and update digital assets for Innovation City’s website, events, and campaigns
  • Lead the design and development of landing pages and microsites for major events
  • Maintain brand consistency across all touchpoints and communications
  • Design Innovation City’s internal and external presentations

Web & Platform Management:

  • Maintain and update Innovation City’s WordPress website
  • Ensure all platforms are visually aligned and functioning effectively

Tools & Platforms You’ll Use:

Design: Adobe Illustrator, Canva

Marketing: Mailchimp, Facebook Business Suite, LinkedIn Ads

Web: WordPress

Analytics & Reporting: Platform-native insights and reporting tools

Role Overview

Youll be the brands go-to content creator, working closely with the Creative Manager to ideate, design, and deliver social media content that aligns with product launches, marketing campaigns, and brand messaging. While design skills are a must, your main superpower should be understanding how to communicate visually on platforms like Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and TikTok .

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, plan, and execute engaging content across social media platforms
  • Create short-form videos (Reels, TikToks, Stories) and supporting graphics
  • Translate campaign briefs into platform-specific creative assets
  • Collaborate with the Creative Manager on brand visuals, catalogues, and web design
  • Maintain and grow brand presence across all digital channels
  • Stay on top of trends, competitor content, and engagement insights

Requirements

  • 2+ years experience in content creation, social media marketing or digital design
  • Strong portfolio showcasing social media posts, video content, and platform-specific campaigns
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign); Canva is a bonus
  • Ability to shoot, edit and publish content in-house (no agency hand-holding)
  • Understanding of brand tone, visual identity, and target audience engagement
  • Strong copywriting flair for captions, hashtags, and post descriptions
  • Johannesburg-based, office-based role (not remote)
