Requirements:

Minimum Academic, Professional Qualifications and Experience required for this position

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) / Bachelor of Arts (BA) (LLB) or LLB degree.
  • Preferably admitted Attorney or Advocate.

Experience:

  • 6+ years of post-qualification experience in a dynamic legal environment, with a focus commercial law, with a foundational understanding of financial services law, digital payments, and/or consumer/membership services law (e.g., National Credit Act, Consumer Protection Act, POPIA).
  • Proven ability to draft and review a wide range of commercial agreements.
  • Working knowledge of intellectual property laws, technology laws, ecommerce and marketplace laws, advertising and media laws, consumer protection advantageous.

Schedule:

Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM PT (USA)

Your Responsibilities Will Include but Are Not Limited To:

  • Managing case and client records
  • Drafting immigration forms and recommendation letters
  • Assisting with package assembly and preparation
  • Managing email communications
  • Triaging client needs and prioritizing tasks
  • Taking messages and scheduling appointments
  • Managing the calendar and coordinating meetings
  • Conducting legal research as instructed
  • Supporting mailing and documentation tasks
  • Reviewing specific cases if background allows

What We're Looking For:

  • At least one to two years of experience in legal support or administrative roles, without an attorney-level qualification
  • Familiarity with immigration law is a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Proactive and dependable approach to work
  • Comfortable working with sensitive legal information
  • Loyal and people-oriented mindset
  • Ability to work independently and follow instructions precisely
