A senior-level opportunity is available for an experienced Financial Accountant to take on a pivotal role within a Group Finance Division. The role requires someone who is proactive accurate and detail-focused with the ability to work independently and manage their workload effectively.
You will be responsible for safeguarding the accuracy of financial data supporting management with reliable reporting and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal processes. This position involves a mix of core accounting, reporting, compliance oversight and process improvement with regular involvement in cross-functional projects.
Responsibilities- General Ledger & Reporting: Overseeing ledger accuracy, preparing and reviewing reconciliations, processing journal entries, and delivering clear monthly reports to stakeholders.
- Controls & Compliance: Reviewing creditor, debtor and bank reconciliations, identifying discrepancies and enhancing financial controls.
- Accounts Receivable Oversight: Monitoring debtor age analyses, producing regular reports, and managing credit insurance processes to mitigate risk.
- Special Projects: Assisting with seasonal or project-based reconciliations, audits, and payment processes, ensuring compliance and accuracy throughout.
- Cashflow & Forex: Managing cashflow forecasting and planning, overseeing foreign currency transactions and related contracts, and authorising payments.
- Degree in Accounting or Finance with 3 years experience
- Completed SAIPA or SAICA articles advantageous
- Strong grasp of accounting principles, standards and procedures
- Exceptional accuracy, organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
