Website Developer

Our client in the Digital Marketing Industry requires the services of a creative and pro-active Website Developer to create multipurpose websites and amazing themes and layouts for desktop and mobiles.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key performance areas:

  • Designing and developing website’s architecture as well as building new features and functionalities (back-end & front-end programming)
  • Ensuring high-performance and managing all the technical aspects of the CMS
  • Maintain well-documented and reusable code
  • Developing and converting designs into themes
  • Analysing website performance and troubleshooting errors
  • Handling the backend of the website, including database and server integration
  • Building and implementing new themes and plugins
  • Building the website front-end and conducting website performance tests
Desired Experience & Qualification

The successful candidate must have:

  • Matric with tertiary qualification in Multimedia Design or relevant
  • At least 5 years’ experience in WordPress or relevant experience
  • Experience in building both front-end and back-end of the website
  • Extensive knowledge of WordPress Plugins and WordPress Elementor
  • Good understanding of Web architecture
  • Working knowledge of HTML / CMS / JAVA SCRIPT
  • Knowledge of UI/UX would be advantageous
  • Knowledge of Webflow and Shopify would be advantageous
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills (English)

At Rotate Digital, a website developer is responsible for designing, building, and optimizing websites to maximize visibility and ranking on search engines. This role combines web development skills with the ability to work closely with SEO specialists to create websites that drive organic traffic and deliver superior user experiences. The website developer will also be responsible for continual updates and optimization of client websites. This is a remote position and requires a disciplined approach to time management and self-motivation.


This is a remote role with flexible working hours. Availability outside the USA is requested for communication and ready for last-minute urgent requests/ meetings when necessary at any time between 9 am and 3 pm US Eastern time.

  • Website Development: Develop, maintain, and enhance websites and web applications, ensuring they are responsive, user-friendly, and aligned with Rotate Digital website development standards and best practices.

  • Website Maintenance: Complete ad-hoc requests and optimizations for live websites to ensure client satisfaction and quality website performance.

  • Quality Assurance: Implement and enforce testing processes, including unit testing and code reviews, to maintain code quality and security.

  • Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with emerging web technologies and trends, and share knowledge with the team to drive innovation.

  • Collaborative Department Development: We have a strong team of developers who like to tackle projects, improve processes, and better the quality of our websites together.

  • Time-Tracking: Time spent on all tasks, projects, and builds needs to be tracked in order to help provide clarity to resources spent on projects/clients and to help management better understand project workload and capacity.

  • Cross-Department Communication: Clearly communicate with fellow team members from other departments. Questions are responded to within 24 hours, and any tasks assigned are acknowledged within 24 hours; if there is a conflict of time constraint, then this is communicated upfront.
