1. Identify and pursue new business opportunities in freight forwarding services, including ocean, air, ground transportation and cross trade.

3. Develop and deliver persuasive sales presentations to potential clients, showcasing capabilities and services.
4. Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to ensure mutually beneficial agreements.
5. Collaborate with operations, customer service, and other internal teams to ensure seamless execution of customer shipments.
6. Prepare and maintain accurate sales reports, forecasts, and client records.
7. Meet or exceed sales targets and contribute to the overall growth of the company.

Minimum Requirements:

1. Proven experience in sales, preferably within the freight forwarding or logistics industry.
2. Strong knowledge of international shipping, customs regulations, and transportation solutions.
3. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to connect with clients at all levels.
4. Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
5. Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
6. Exceptional negotiation and problem-solving skills.

Key Performance Indicators

• Assist with freight forwarding operations
• Coordinate shipments with carriers and warehouse teams.
• Prepare and process shipping documents, such as bills of lading and commercial invoices.
• Track shipments and monitor delivery performance
• Assist with preparing customs documentation and ensuring compliance with regulations.

Minimum Requirements

• National Diploma in Logistics
• Previous experience in logistics or freight forwarding would be advantageous
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively

• Oversee daily operations of the Johannesburg branch, including international sea and airfreight forwarding activities.
• Manage and grow the sales function, actively pursuing new business opportunities in line with company goals.
• Negotiate competitive freight rates with shipping lines, airlines, and local transport providers.
• Ensure efficient and compliant cross-border freight operations.
• Maintain close working relationships with overseas agents and local clients.

• Minimum 5 years experience in international freight forwarding (sea and air)
• Solid knowledge of over-border freight operations
• Basic understanding of domestic freight and warehousing

This role will ensure smooth functioning of key sales activities such as Industry/Vertical analysis,

identification of leads, qualification of leads, bidding, contract closure, account planning, sales forecasting, opportunity review, pricing review, and industry thought leadership participation, amongst others. Proactively identify bottlenecks in the sales process and find ways to troubleshoot them, create and maintain documentation on sales processes, assist with on-boarding new sales team members, and share key insights from sales data to the Capability leadership team.

Key Performance Areas

• Lead and facilitate the sales process, account planning, forecasting, and opportunity
• Track and analyse key metrics including pipeline growth, win/loss rates, renewals, and quotes
• Capture leads from both internal and external sources, qualify them with support from capability business development executives/directors and the Business development central team.
• Manage the capability pipeline through Microsoft Dynamics.
• Manage sales contracts inclusive of NDAs in conjunction with the legal and BU MDs.
• Assist marketing teams in determining client outreach methods.
• Develop and implement new interventions that help improve sales performance.
• Track sales performance in tandem with individual performance to allocate recognition points when required.
• Enable solution-selling across DP World’s capabilities: Infusing voice of customer into product and services development and ensuring offerings meets customer needs.
• Collaborate with the Regional and Global pillar peers.
• Proactively participate in strategy sessions, providing continuous feedback on customer needs and pain points, which will translate into industry opportunities and inform intuitive client journeys.
• Develop monthly, quarterly Regional, Global, Exco and Board meetings.
• Develop and sustain the Client Relationships Capability.
• Be the Sales Capability lead point-of-contact to handle any escalation and resolve key client issues and complaints.
• Support the DP World HR agenda, including the effective management of workforce planning, recruitment, learning and development, performance management, reward and recognition, talent management, and employee relations in line with Group policies and procedures.
• Support the development of a healthy, high-performance culture, in alignment with DP World cultural objectives.

Qualifications Required

Experience and Skills Required

• 8-10 years’ proven track record of performance in the Sales & Commercial environment.
• Business development experience in responding to RFQs, structuring, and closing deals.
• Experience in creating and leading a Go-to-Market Strategy to achieve revenue and market share growth.
• Logistics Industry experience across multiple countries in the Sub-Saharan Africa region.

The Supply Chain Supervisor is responsible for ensuring all warehouse functions are done timeously and accurately.

Minimum Experience:

• Clear understanding of WMS
• Experience in a Logistics and Distribution environment
• Computer literate (MS Office)
