The Role
This position is responsible for developing and managing freight operations along the Southern Corridor, with a focus on expanding trade routes, optimizing multimodal logistics (rail, road, sea, and inland waterways), and strengthening market presence across East and Central Africa.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in freight forwarding, pricing strategies, and vendor management across multiple transportation modes, including sea, air, rail, and land logistics. The Responsibilities
Pricing & Operations Management:
- Develop competitive pricing strategies for LCL, FCL, air, rail, land, and specialized cargo (including mining and oil & gas equipment).
- Maintain an accurate and up-to-date market rate database for informed decision-making.
- Lead negotiations with shipping lines, NVOCCs, carriers, and logistics providers to optimize costs and service levels.
- Oversee warehousing, bonded storage, cross-loading, and multimodal transport solutions to enhance supply chain efficiency.
- Ensure full compliance with international trade regulations, customs requirements, and KYC (Know Your Customer) protocols.
- Manage specialized logistics operations for oil and gas, mining, and heavy equipment transport, including rig moves, pipeline logistics, and bulk commodity handling.
