Vacancy Technician: Energy Solutions (Woodmead)
Were recruiting for a Technician: Energy Solutions , based in Woodmead , reporting to the Senior Manager Service Delivery .
️ Role Overview:
The role involves supporting franchise partners with the design, setup, and maintenance of customized energy solutions. Responsibilities include assisting with technical scoping, compiling bills of materials (BOMs), collaborating with EPC partners, and handling installations, diagnostics, repairs, and ongoing maintenance of energy systems.
The scope of work includes equipment such as generators, solar panels, inverters, batteries, BMS units , and solar charge controllers . The technician will also provide second-line technical support, training, and assist with escalations.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with EPCs, OEMs, distributors, and franchise teams on energy projects
Support pre-sales activities with technical input and site assessments
Install loggers and interpret energy usage data to inform system design
Perform installations, troubleshooting, and maintenance on energy equipment
Ensure all work complies with local electrical standards and safety regulations (SANS)
Conduct electrical inspections and issue Certificates of Compliance (CoC)
Maintain accurate service records and adhere to company safety protocols
Requirements:
Matric + Trade Test (Qualified Electrician) + Valid Wiremans License
3-5 years of post-qualification electrical experience
Strong knowledge of both single-phase and three-phase systems
Proficient in reading schematics and using testing tools
Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Willingness to travel and work overtime as required
Valid drivers license
Ideal Candidate:
