Who We Are Is What We Do. Deel and our family of growing companies are made up of global teams dedicated to helping businesses hire anyone, anywhere, easily.

The team comprises over three thousand self-driven individuals spanning over 100 countries, and our unified yet diverse culture keeps us continually learning and innovating the platform and products for customers.

Companies should be able to hire the best talent anywhere in the world, so we are building the best platform to make that a reality. Our market-leading technology, expertise, and global team are crucial to the platform’s success. We deliver the best products and features in our space, enabling millions of jobs worldwide and connecting the global workforce with the best companies and opportunities.

Why should you be part of our success story?

A 30-mile hiring radius should no longer dictate how companies hire because exceptional talent lives everywhere. Deel sees a world without hiring borders and endless talent that pairs perfect candidates with great companies.

We offer global teams all the tools they need to hire, onboard, manage, pay, and scale at full speed. We aim to foster a diverse global economy by building a generational platform that seamlessly connects companies with talent worldwide.

After our successful Series D in 2021, we raised another $50M in 2023, doubling our valuation to $12B. There’s never been a more exciting time to join Deel — the international payroll and compliance market leader.

Assignment: Learning Design for Deel’s Leadership Academy

Contract Period: June 1st, 2024 – December 1st, 2024

Scope: Deliver comprehensive, multi-modal learning resources in collaboration with the People Development Partners, to support the creation, launch and iteration of Deel’s Leadership Academy within H2 2024.

Contract Deliverables:

  • Develop interactive e-learning modules (using Articulate) and associated or stand-alone assets including but not limited to animations, videos, quizzes, and case studies on topics related to the Leadership Academy programs.
  • In partnership with People Development Partners, design visually engaging live leadership workshops plus custom-designed facilitator guides and participant workbooks.
  • Create visually engaging job aids, infographics, and one-pagers summarizing key leadership models, frameworks, and best practices for quick reference and reinforcement.
  • Support with the creation of ‘marketing’ content for the Leadership Academy, including the design of promotional materials such as videos, slide decks and other visual assets.

Total Rewards

Our workforce deserves fair and competitive pay that meets them where they are. With scalable benefits, rewards, and perks, our total rewards programs reflect our commitment to inclusivity and access for all.

Some things you’ll enjoy

  • Provided computer equipment tailored to your role
  • Stock grant opportunities dependent on your role, employment status and location
  • Additional perks and benefits based on your employment status and country
  • The flexibility of remote work, including WeWork access where available

At Deel, we’re an equal-opportunity employer that values diversity and positively encourages applications from suitably qualified and eligible candidates regardless of race, religion, sex, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, disability status, pregnancy or maternity or other applicable legally protected characteristics.

  • Plan and oversee course production and maintenance in collaboration with HyperionDev's Director of Learning Experience and Operations Manager.
  • Review, update and oversee departmental success metrics related to course quality, student satisfaction, progression and graduation.

Hyperion Dev is one of the largest providers of accelerated tech education in EMEA and one of the oldest providers of 'coding bootcamps' in the world. We work with top universities such as Imperial College London, The London School of Economics, The University of Edinburgh, and Stellenbosch University to deliver structured technical courses and bootcamps that accelerate people into fulfilling tech careers. We have been recognised as one of the top education technology scaleups in the world and gained the financial backing of Meta (previously Facebook), which recognised us as the most socially impactful startup operating in Africa, where we initially started our work. We are dedicated to closing the global tech skills gap, and we achieve this by integrating tech education with human mentorship and expert code review, powered by a workforce in Southern Africa, which lowers the cost of an accessible education in technology. This model has been successful, allowing us to reach millions of learners a year from over 60 countries. We have also partnered with government bodies such as the UK's Department for Education, who provide scholarships for students to study on our bootcamps and gain employment at companies such as Astra Zeneca and the United Kingdom's National Health Service (NHS). We're backed by nearly 2000 investors, having raised the largest crowdfunding round of funding for an edtech company in history. As a primarily bootstrapped, profitable, and scale-up tech business, join us as we play our part in making the world a more stable, safer, and fair place. ABOUT THE ROLE As our full-time Head of Learning Design at Hyperion Dev, you will lead the critical functions of course design, development and evaluation. This is a new role that exists within the Learning Experience part of the organisation. The Head of Learning Design will oversee all aspects of Hyperion Dev’s course strategy, development and maintenance to ensure that our learners have the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to embark on a career in tech. Reporting directly to the Director of Learning Experience, the Head of Learning Design will also be responsible for line managing a number of Hyperion Dev learning designers, course evaluators, and other specialists, setting key goals and expectations as it relates to new course development and existing portfolio maintenance. To excel in this role you need to be able to think strategically and prioritise effectively in order to deliver on ambitious targets related to course quality, student satisfaction, retention and engagement. It will require someone who can manage multiple tasks and priorities as well as people, while keeping sight of bigger picture goals and targets. RESPONSIBILITIES Oversee new course development and existing portfolio maintenance to ensure learner success, improved bootcamp completion rates, learner retention & satisfaction. Streamline and scale course building and course maintenance strategies to drive efficiency, contain scope, and improve course quality. Translate department and business goals into regular team operations. Manage and develop team members by establishing quarterly performance goals, allocating resources, assessing performance, conducting coaching conversations, providing feedback and proposing individual merit, and/or promotional increases. Plan and oversee course production and maintenance in collaboration with Hyperion Dev’s Director of Learning Experience and Operations Manager.
