EdTech Growth Associate – Remote South Africa (US East Coast Hours)

Job Description
Let’s be honest. Higher education is broken and students and professors both feel it. Students don't like reading outdated Textbooks, prices are sky-high, and engagement in the classroom is dropping. At Classavo, we’re changing that.
We’re building a platform where professors can adopt one of our learning materials or create, customize, and monetize their own digital learning materials and where students get access to high-quality, interactive resources at a fraction of the cost. No middlemen. No outdated formats. Just great learning, made affordable and personal.
We’re early. We’re growing. And we’re looking for someone gritty, coachable, and ambitious to help build the future of academic sales from the ground up.
What You’ll Do
As an Growth Associate , you’ll be the first voice professors hear from Classavo. Your mission: start the conversation, get them curious, and book meetings for our sales team.
- Make cold calls and send emails to professors, department heads, and instructional designers
- Pitch with empathy and energy, these aren’t fast, transactional sales
- Learn the Classavo product deeply so you can speak to real academic pain points
- Use tools like (Hubspot, Lemlist, Jimminy, Notion, etc.) to stay organized and productive
- Hit and exceed weekly outreach and booking goals
- Track objections, improve messaging, and be a part of the team building the playbook
This isn’t your average “smile and dial” SDR gig. We’re looking for someone who’s as hungry as they are thoughtful. Someone who thrives in a demanding startup environment and wants to help build, not just plug into a sales machine.
You Might Be a Fit If You:
- Have relentless personal responsibility, you own your numbers and your outcomes
- Bounce back fast when you get rejected
- Listen more than you talk, but sell when it counts
- Can handle 80+ calls a day and still keep your energy up
- High coachability, feedback is fuel
- Know how to manage your own time and stay on track
- Keep positive, goal-driven mindset - you’re here to grow
- Have successful 7+ months of cold outreach experience
(We care about these, too)
- Experience selling into education, EdTech, or academic publishing
- Can hold a smart, respectful conversation with a professor
- Great energy and phone presence
- Long-term interest in a career in sales
- You’re simply… likeable
- Competitive Pay and Uncapped Commission
- Equity, own a piece of what you’re helping to build
- Remote-first team, but must be available during East Coast business hours
- Close mentorship and coaching, you’ll be challenged, but supported
- Clear path to full-cycle AE within 12 - 18 months based on performance
- Future leadership opportunities as we scale
- The chance to actually improve higher education and be proud of the impact you make
Higher Education is going through a second revolution after COVID-19 with AI enabled learning. This is the best time in history of ed-tech to be part of an innovative change and that's a great business. We’re a tight, mission-driven team with early traction and a vision to democratize academic publishing. Our founder-led sales strategy is getting first wins. Advisors and investors believe in the long-term value and we’re looking for builders, not placeholders and those who want to create their own destiny.
If you want a comfy, corporate gig, this probably isn’t for you. But if you want to get your hands dirty, make a real difference, and grow fast to a point you never need a resume again, we want to talk.
