Brief Role Description

  • To monitor and control the local part development at suppliers for critical parts.
  • To ensure that the corporate milestones according to PEP are supported. Supplier is ready and capable of supporting the corporate millstones with parts for the various builds.
  • Ensure on time submission of sample parts as per the agreed committed timing via the corporate systems with all legal and relative supporting documentation.
  • Through early planning and monitoring of suppliers and product processes, by conducting regular, one on one discussion with the suppliers at their production facilities and nominated toolmakers. Reaching agreements on timing for the projects.
  • Setting up secondary project mile stones. Consulting on tooling and facility designs and manufacturing processes. ``rouble-Shooting shortly before and after the Start Of Production will be minimized
  • Ensuring that, predominantly, suppliers are able to supply parts timeously, according to the company requirements, with fully functional tooling and equipment whilst meeting the confirmed capacity allocations for the company.
  • With the required actions comes the need to effectively communicate, any issues as well as progress, internally as well as to all other departments within the company and to the respective supplier.

Qualification & Experience requirements

  • A Technical Degree/Diploma in an Engineering field (Mechanical/Electrical/Mechatronics/Polymer)
  • At least 5 years of experience in key technologies such as plastics, Plastic injections moulding and/or manufacturing processes
  • Experience in tool manufacturing and/or design and/or project management
  • The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Project Management and technically sound
  • Ability to interpret technical data and drawings
  • Negotiation & Problem-solving skills

  • Matlab/Simulink software development for vehicle and body controllers used in the automotive environment
  • Development, documentation, verification and testing of control software and software tools
  • Support testing of software at module level and on prototype vehicles
  • Engineering and improvement of software development processes
  • Contribute to vehicle level architecture design (systems modelling, data analytics, duty cycle analysis) and systems integration (ADAS, ABS, traction-, battery systems, OTA)
  • Contribute to the development of system plant models and simulations using Matlab/Simulink
  • Contribute to the development of software tools required for vehicle production and field support
Key Skills:
  • Proficient in Matlab/Simulink environment. Experience with Simulink coder will be beneficial
  • Experience with Polarion ALM tools for requirements management will be beneficial
  • Knowledge of formal software development processes will be beneficial
  • Knowledge and experience working on electric vehicle subsystems will be beneficial
  • Knowledge and experience of ISO 26262 functional safety design will be beneficial
  • Knowledge of J1939 CAN communication and associated test tools/equipment
  • Attention to detail

Working hours:

08h00 – 17h00, Monday to Friday (subject to change) with core hours and flexi time, and may require over time as per project. Leave is based on statutory requirements.
