Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Audio Visual (AV) and Acoustics Engineer with a National Diploma or relevant technical certification in the field. The ideal candidate will also hold a Relevant Audio Visual Certified Systems Engineer certification with specialized experience in Delegate Conference Systems. The role requires at least 4 years of experience in managing AV implementations for chambers, auditoriums, and other large-scale environments. The position is ideal for a professional who has hands-on experience in AV systems, acoustics, and is capable of leading complex AV projects from concept to completion. Duties and responsibilities AV System Design & Implementation: Design, implement, and manage comprehensive AV systems, including delegate conference systems, for chambers, auditoriums, and other facilities.Acoustic Solutions: Apply technical expertise to design and implement acoustic treatments to ensure sound clarity and quality across large venues.AV Systems Engineering: Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain AV systems, including audio mixers, microphones, speakers, video conferencing equipment, and integrated control systems.Project Management: Manage all aspects of AV projects, from requirement gathering, system design, and installation to testing and commissioning.Client Engagement: Liaise with stakeholders to define project requirements and provide technical advice on AV solutions.System Maintenance & Upgrades: Conduct routine maintenance, updates, and upgrades of AV and acoustic systems, ensuring optimal performance.Vendor & Supplier Management: Work with external vendors and suppliers for equipment procurement, installation services, and technical support.Documentation & Reporting: Prepare detailed system documentation, including AV schematics, system diagrams, and user guides. Provide regular project and system performance reports.Requirements Qualifications National Diploma in a relevant technical field (e.g., Electronics, Information Technology, AV Systems).Relevant Technical Certification in Audio Visual Systems.Certified Systems Engineer in Delegate Conference Systems.Audio Visual & Acoustics Certification (preferred). Experience 4 years of experience working with audio-visual systems and acoustics in large venues, including chambers and auditoriums.Proven experience in managing AV projects, from design through to implementation and handover.Expertise in delegate conference systems, including setup and configuration.Knowledge of audio mixers, microphones, speakers, video conferencing equipment, and control systems (e.g., Crestron, AMX).Strong understanding of acoustics principles and experience in designing acoustical solutions for large spaces. Technical Skills Proficiency with AV system design software (e.g., AutoCAD, EASE).Familiarity with AV control systems and automation.Experience in setting up video conferencing solutions (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, WebEx).Strong troubleshooting skills for AV hardware and software issues.Knowledge of acoustic treatments and soundproofing techniques. Key Competencies Strong project management and organizational skills.Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Additional Requirements Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as needed.Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate project schedules.

What the job involves.

Capturing clean, creative, high-quality sound on set (using boom mics, lavs, wireless systems, mixers)

Managing voiceover recordings, interviews, and podcasts in a professional studio environment

Syncing, cleaning, mixing, and exporting final audio using Adobe Audition, DaVinci Resolve Fairlight, or Pro Tools

Ensuring high-quality sound for various platforms (TV, web, etc.)

Handling gear prep, checklists, and maintenance of sound equipment

Collaborating with directors, editors, project managers and producers to meet high creative standards

Offering creative input to enhance storytelling through sound

Managing workflow and media including backups and naming conventions

What you need to be considered.

3–5 years experience in both studio and location-based sound engineering

Proficient in using Zoom F6, Rode NTG series, Sennheiser G3 / G4, and DAWs (Audition, Fairlight, Pro Tools)

Strong understanding of audio fundamentals (EQ, gain staging, mic patterns, etc.)

Experience with podcast and voice recording

Able to troubleshoot under pressure and meet deadlines

Organised, communicative and collaborative

Must love and understand sports content
