This role is ideal for a proactive buyer with strong negotiation skills, excellent commercial awareness, and a proven ability to source quality products while driving profitability and maintaining optimal stock levels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Source and procure FMCG products in line with business requirements and customer demand.

  • Negotiate competitive pricing, supplier agreements, rebates, and favourable trading terms.

  • Monitor inventory levels and forecast demand to ensure consistent product availability.

  • Analyse sales trends, customer buying patterns, and market data to optimise product selection and profitability.

  • Build, develop, and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and key stakeholders.

  • Research market trends and identify new product opportunities to enhance the product offering.

  • Manage purchasing budgets and implement cost-effective procurement strategies.

  • Prepare purchasing reports and maintain accurate procurement records and documentation.

  • Ensure suppliers meet quality, delivery, and service level expectations.

  • Work closely with sales, warehouse, and finance teams to support business objectives.

Minimum Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Buyer within the wholesale or FMCG industry .

  • Proven experience in supplier negotiations and procurement.

  • Strong understanding of inventory management and demand forecasting.

  • Excellent analytical and commercial decision-making skills.

  • Advanced negotiation and relationship management abilities.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

  • Experience working with ERP or procurement systems will be advantageous.

  • Relevant qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field will be advantageous.
