Introduction

Medical Resources Group is recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established multidisciplinary Medical Centre in Midrand, Johannesburg, for an experienced Practice Manager.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall operational management of the practice, ensuring efficient administration, exceptional patient service delivery, effective staff leadership, regulatory compliance, and alignment with organisational policies and healthcare legislation.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Management

  • Full operational management of a multidisciplinary medical practice.

  • Ensure alignment with national operational strategy, healthcare legislation, ethical standards, and organisational policies.

  • Lead overall branch operations, including clinical support, administration, front-office processes, and service delivery.

  • Drive implementation of national operational initiatives and local process improvements.

  • Monitor daily workflows to ensure smooth, efficient, and professional practice operations.

Stakeholder & Relationship Management

Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure compliance with healthcare legislation, ethical standards, regulatory requirements, and relevant registrations.

  • Participate in internal audits and ensure corrective actions are implemented within required timeframes.

  • Maintain accurate records, documentation, and effective administrative controls.

Human Capital & Staffing

  • Oversee manpower planning and staffing structures aligned with operational requirements.

  • Support recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and staff development.

  • Assist with employee relations matters in accordance with company policies and labour legislation.

  • Ensure effective staff supervision, scheduling, accountability, and ongoing performance management.

Minimum Requirements

  • Matric / Grade 12.

  • A tertiary qualification in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, Practice Management, Office Management, or a related field will be advantageous but is not essential.

  • Minimum of 3 years' management experience in a leadership role.

  • Minimum of 5 years' clinical or healthcare industry experience, preferably within a multidisciplinary medical practice or clinic.

  • Previous experience managing the administrative and operational functions of a medical practice will be advantageous.

  • Sound understanding of healthcare operations, patient administration, compliance, and staff management.

  • Excellent management, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong planning, organisational, coordination, and follow-up abilities.

  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to take initiative while accepting accountability and responsibility.

  • Strong customer service and patient care orientation.

  • Ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and solve problems effectively.
