Job Overview

We are looking for a dynamic and driven individual to take ownership of their role in maintaining, upgrading, and managing a diverse and growing infrastructure environment. You will be asked to explore, evaluate, and implement new software tools and technologies to help automate and simplify processes in order to achieve strategic goals. 4. Strong scripting skills (e.g., Bash, Python, Perl or other languages).
5. Knowledge of automation and configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Terraform).

Availability : Ensure that uptime SLAs are met every month for cloud infrastructure solutions that you are responsible for, by managing and resolving issue logs; lifecycle management of deployed infrastructure solutions.

Information Security : Ensure that the cloud environments are internally and externally secure by following existing policies and procedures and documenting for audit purposes as required; implementing security controls and remediations; completing risk assessments and build guides for new and existing systems. Align the environment to the Group’s security standards.

Systems Resilience : Ensure that cloud environments are secure and backed up by ensuring that regular backups are made and are tested. Participate in yearly BCP & DR tests. Ensure that cloud management is in line with company requirements and departmental policy for resilience and availability. Document and keep solution design, business continuity plans and standard operating procedure documents up to date.

Training : Develop professional and technical knowledge and skills. Provide technical advice and mentoring within the team.

Project Work : Implement new projects to meet project timelines. Work in a matrix structure with multi-national teams.

Budget : Recommend changes that could reduce costs in your areas of responsibility.

Overview Of The Role And Requirements

• To provide guidance in the implementation, installation, configuration and testing of system software on all relevant mainframes to code and automate tasks that optimise processing aligned to business requirements.
• Python coding experience
• Experience in software testing
• Strong technical knowledge and the ability to coach development teams on testing and test automation
• Good understanding of monitoring and event techniques
• Knowledge on DevOps
• Must have experience of current industry trends in Infrastructure and Application Monitoring products.
• API experience advantageous
  
  

You Will Be Responsible For

• Event management between tools
• Custom Integration with other tools
• Develop and configure custom monitoring solutions
• Document system configurations and procedures
• Day to day operations (requests, incidents and changes)
  
  

Monitoring Experience

• Experience in IT Infrastructure Operations and Monitoring
• Good understanding of monitoring and event management tools
• Must have experience of current industry trends in Infrastructure and Application Monitoring products.
• Strong technical knowledge and the ability to coach development junior team members
• Problem-solving and communication skills
• Knowledge on DevOps
• Python coding experience
• Experience in software testing

• CheckMK/Nagios

This is a hands-on role for a detail-oriented System Administrator who thrives on problem-solving, security hardening, and infrastructure support. If you're experienced in Linux, cloud, and scripting—and you're ready to join a high-performing, remote-first tech team—this one's for you.

About the Role

You'll be part of a global operations team, supporting the infrastructure that powers a fast-scaling tech business. From provisioning and patching to security and audits, your work will be critical to ensuring the systems are secure, monitored, and running at peak performance.

What You’ll Do

Monitor and diagnose infrastructure, services, capacity, and security

Provision, maintain, and patch servers and platforms

Action Level 1 and 2 operational requests (e.g., backups, user access, migrations)

Support service desk operations and asset reporting

Ensure compliance with security controls, governance, and audit requirements

Build and document processes, standards, and SLAs

Participate in incident response, disaster recovery, and business continuity tests

What You Bring

macOS and Windows Server experience

Strong scripting ability (Bash, Python, etc.)

Experience with MySQL / Percona, Nginx, and orchestration tools like SaltStack or Ansible

Cloud infrastructure and networking knowledge

Experience with system hardening, backup automation, and documentation

Familiarity with agile methodologies and SysAdmin standards

Attention to detail, strong analytical thinking, and effective communication

The main purpose of this role includes but is not limited to:

1. Ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of all the TCTA's information systems that support core business functions.
2. Ensure high availability of systems and services to the external and internal user community.
3. Ensure a high level of security of the systems, services, and 3rd party applications to comply with security standards.
4. Enable user self-provisioning by leveraging technologies in the infrastructure for higher customer satisfaction.
5. Follow business processes to ensure data availability and integrity.
6. Co-ordinate internal and external resources to ensure that necessary maintenance is performed to ensure the reliable operation of systems and business continuity.
7. Audit user activities and data selection to comply with audit criteria and security policies.
8. Conduct growth analysis and capacity planning to ensure optimal availability and use of resources.
9. Identify if there is a shortcoming on the system, spec it, test it, train others, and roll out the new improved system.
10. Ensure successful integration and maintenance with 3rd party systems to ensure system availability.
11. Ensure that necessary documentation is created and available to ensure business continuity.
12. Set-up and manage output devices including the administration of output management utilities.
