Minimum Qualifications And Experience

- Related Environmental Health & Safety certificates or equivalent courses completed (i.e. RCAT & Risk management, Environmental Health & Safety Management, etc.)
- Computer Literate (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Internet)
- Skilled in delivering training programs, presentations and development of policies and procedures
- Valid Driver’s License
- Diploma/ Related Qualification in EHS Management will be an advantage
- Drive a culture of “Zero Harm to People and the Environment” across the region
- Build strong working relationships in order to assist Managers to consistently implement the Company’s EHS Policy and Management System
- Provide leadership, mentoring, guidance and development of Regional EHS Team
- Promote incorporation of EHS into business planning and assist with establishing EHS management performance measures
- Develop and implement Regional and National EHS Projects, Processes and Procedures

- Coordinate the implementation of occupational rehabilitation and the Injury Management Program

Westfalia Fruit Estate, situated in Limpopo, Tzaneen, has a vacancy for a suitably qualified and experienced: Occupational Health Nurse
Purpose of the role:
To promote and protect the health, safety, and well-being of employees by delivering comprehensive occupational health services, including primary health care, workplace injury and illness management, and health and safety program implementation, in compliance with statutory requirements and company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and treat work-related and non-work-related conditions.
- Conduct medical surveillance and chronic disease management.
- Manage incapacity and disability cases and escalate IODs appropriately
- Identify and manage workplace hazards.
- Coordinate Health Risk Assessments and support compliance with hearing conservation and health programs.
- Plan and support health awareness campaigns and peer educator training.
- Attend to first aid and medical emergencies promptly.
- Ensure emergency equipment and supplies are maintained.
- Report and manage IOD-related incidents effectively.
- Maintain accurate patient records and reports (monthly/quarterly).
- Manage medical inventory and equipment calibration.
- Perform audits, inspections, and follow-up on findings
- Participate in training and continuous professional development aligned with a personal development plan.
Education:
- Diploma or Degree in Nursing Sciences (required)
- B.Tech in Occupational Health Nursing (required)
- B.Tech in Occupational Health Nursing (required)
- Valid SANC registration (required)
- Certificates in Audiometry, Spirometry, Vision Screening, HCT (advantageous)
- Dispensing License (advantageous)
- SAMTRAC or similar occupational safety qualification (advantageous)
- Valid Driver’s License (advantageous)
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years’ nursing experience
- Experience in occupational health services is highly beneficial
Behavioural Competencies:

- Understanding of OHS Act, COID Act, BCEA, and POPIA
- Workplace hazards, illnesses, and injury management
- Occupational health regulations and safe work procedures
Skills:
- Advanced computer literacy
- Critical thinking and time management
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
- High attention to patient confidentiality
- Ability to lead, coordinate, and work under pressure
- Team player with a professional work ethic
- Strong sense of urgency and commitment to continuous improvement
