Lead the design of data solutions in the Sales and Marketing areas, aimed at delivering effective, robust and repeatable data solutions, both independently and within specific projects.

A Data Solutions Architect is a senior-level role that designs, develops, and implements Data architectures in support of organizational strategy and business needs. The Data Solutions Architect will work within a larger Data Architecture practice, and engage with business stakeholders, business analysts, other solutions and application architects to understand the requirements, challenges, and opportunities of data within the Sales and Marketing domains. The Data Solutions Architect also ensures that Data Solutions are aligned with the data strategy, governance, and quality standards of the organization.

Data Solutions for Finance and Human Resources cover all aspects of the acquisition, storing, integrating and utilization of reference, master and transactional data across all Sales and Marketing applications.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of data solutions that meet the business objectives and expectations of the stakeholders.
• Define and document the functional specifications, data models, data flows, and data architectures of the data solutions.
• Provide guidance and support to the application development teams in the implementation, testing, and deployment of the data solutions.
• Monitor and evaluate the performance, scalability, reliability, and security of the data solutions.
• Identify and resolve data issues, gaps, and inconsistencies in the data solutions
• Research and recommend new technologies, tools, and best practices for data solutions.
• Communicate and present the data solutions to the stakeholders and other relevant parties.

Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes

• Ability to construct solutions using their expertise and taking into consideration risk, future vision, other functional and technical solution areas, and overall product roadmaps.
• Self-directed / Self-Managed, a go getter and independent thinker.
• Specific experience on Sales and Marketing solutions.
• Expert knowledge on all data domains as covered by the DMBOK.
• Deep knowledge of reference architectures.
• Good knowledge of project management principles, specifically agile.
• Knowledge of vendor roadmaps, new developments and new product offerings.
• Analytical in their approach.
• Ability to deal with conflicting viewpoints or ideas.
• Ability to share and communicate ideas clearly, both orally and in writing, to executive staff, business sponsors, and technical resources in clear concise language.

Academic Qualifications and Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field of study.
• Data Architecture or similar certification from an accredited institution of professional association such as DAMA would be beneficial.
• TOGAF / COBIT or related certification would be preferred.
• Scaled Agile or Project Management certification.

Required Experience

• 10+ years' experience in Data (covering integration, business intelligence, analytics, master data management, and data governance).
• Proven experience in successful data solutions implementation projects, covering Sales and Marketing.
• Demonstrable experience in multiple industries and across several disciplines.
• Experience with projects through the software development process or Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Demonstrable experience working as a solution architect in a global IT services provider or similar organisation.
