PTA - MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN - MILLWRIGHT

Full Job Description

Responsibility for plant maintenance:

To assist in problem solving to ensure stoppages are kept to a minimum.

1. Reduce machine downtime
2. Reduce scrap originated from machine failure and set-up activities
3. Maintain Quality and safety standards

1. Ensure all maintenance activities (electrical and mechanical) are carried out to the required standard and fool-proofing techniques are applied whenever possible
2. Ensure continuous improvement philosophy is applied
3. Assist production in interpreting relevant machine values in relation to the operation of the machine
4. Carry out appropriate actions to ensure scrap reduction during set-up and production activities
5. Respect budget by ensuring no wastage of spare components
6. Carry out stock takes as defined to ensure availability of spares
7. Ensure all maintenance systems as defined are respected
8. Actively participate in all action teams as requested
9. Carry out all mechanical or electrical adjustments on machines to ensure product quality
10. Assist in installation or moving of any machinery when needed
11. Assist in any project relation to upgrading of the factory / machinery or plant layout
12. Carry out all maintenance activities required, in normal and after hours to ensure down time is kept to the minimum
13. Ensure that all electrical machinery and equipment is safe to operate
14. Ensure that all protective equipment controlling access to live electrical components are in good condition
15. Isolate and forbid the utilization of any equipment that present a risk to employees until the problem is fixed
16. Perform all scheduled preventive maintenance tasks to the correct standards
17. Ensure correct application of LOTO instructions and rules when doing any maintenance interaction on machines
18. Assist contractors and other personnel with LOTO arrangement when and where applicable
19. Assist the production team to maintain and improve productivity by minimizing production line stoppage
20. Ensure proper housekeeping of any areas when electrical and mechanical are concerned
21. Promote, adhere to and ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and instructions in the capacity of employment (e.g. Environmental Management Systems, Health and Safety, Quality)
22. Ensure safety, Health and environmental issues relating to all activities conducted on the company’s premises are respected

Qualified Millwright

Minimum of 5 years’ experience (post trade) in an automotive/manufacturing environment

• Can approach a logical problem-solving method
• Understand the interfacing of all engineering control systems mediums
• Need to be able to make calculated decisions
• Need to be able to work without assistance
• Good time management skills
• Self-driven capability

• Must stop the machine in case of emergency
• Must block the access to any equipment for safety reasons
• Must isolate and forbid the utilization of equipment that he declares not safe
• Must report any action or process that may have a negative impact on HSE
