Job Description:

My client, a leader in the mining manufacturing industry, is looking for a Mechanical Project Engineer who is dynamic, ambitious, and eager to grow within the company. The ideal candidate must come from the mining industry and have experience in designing mining components such as buckets, bins, chutes, and conveyors.

Main job functions:

  1. Develop mechanical products by studying customer requirements, researching, testing, manufacturing, and assembly methods, and soliciting observations from operators.
  2. Develop manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for fabricating, building, assembling, and installing components.
  3. Assure system and product quality by designing testing methods, testing finished products and system capabilities, and confirming fabrication, assembly, and installation processes.
  4. Prepare product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  5. Provide engineering information by answering questions and requests.
  6. Maintain product and company reputation by complying with government regulations.
  7. Keep equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services, following manufacturers' instructions and established procedures, and requesting special services.
  8. Maintain system and product database by writing computer programs and entering data.
  9. Complete projects by training and guiding technicians.
  10. Design conveyor structures, mining components (stringers, rollers, bases, etc.), detailed drawings for manufacturing in 2D & 3D, work hand in hand with Sales Department and manufacturing of components on the workshop floor, conduct site visits to measure and design new components for mines, and draw conveyors.
  11. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
  12. Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
  • Professionally Registered or in the process.
  • Knowledge of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and other mechanical engineering concepts.
  • Excellent math skills, including advanced geometry, calculus, and physics.
  • Familiarity with CAD and other mechanical design software.
