Job Description:

Raise funds to ensure the optimal functioning of the Biotechnology Platform and research program
at the cutting edge of available technologies.

• Collaborate and interact with research teams across ARC to ensure broad application of genomics
  and statistical genomics tools in crop research programs of the ARC,
• Expand and or develop new skills and technologies in genomics in line with the needs of ARC crop research programs,
• Supervise postgraduate students in advanced Plant Genomics
• Lead research programs that will undertake support and research activities in areas such as statistical and structural genomics, next generation sequencing, transcriptomics, quantitative and association genetics and molecular modelling in agricultural plants within the mandate of the ARC,

• Experience in project management and resource mobilisation (inclusive of fund raising).
• Ability to manage a research team or research programs,
• Ability to supervise postgraduate students as demonstrated by a good track record of student supervision,
• Appropriate track record of publication in research journals and recognition within the research community,
• A PhD, postdoctoral and research experience in plant genetics/genomics or related field,
