Team Leadership & Management:
- B.Com Honours essential.
- CA (SA) or equivalent professional designation.Â
- Demonstrated track record of delivery over 7 to 10 years within the firm or a comparable professional services environment.
- Minimum 7 years in professional services accounting, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Demonstrated experience managing teams of 4 or more staff.
- Expert-level competency across monthly accounting, VAT, payroll, PAYE, AFS co-ordination, CIPC and full annual compliance. Capable of handling complex advisory engagements.
- Expert in at least two of: Xero, Pastel, Eureka.
- Proficient in SARS e-Filing, payroll systems and firm practice management tools.
- Demonstrated track record of providing commercially relevant advisory to clients beyond the scope of standard compliance work.
- Proven ability to lead, develop and retain a team of professional staff across multiple levels of seniority.

Team Leadership & Management:
- Lead a team of 6 to 12 staff across one or two Supervisors and their respective Accountant and Clerk teams.
- Plan and manage team workload proactively.
- Build Supervisors who are ready for management and Accountants who are ready for supervision.
- Maintain a team-first mentality in all decisions.
- Plan and maintain the team's workflow calendar across all monthly, quarterly and annual obligations - VAT, payroll, PAYE, management accounts, AFS handovers, CIPC, BO, ROE, Dividends Tax and Donations Tax.
- Plan training for the team, identifying gaps, sourcing solutions and tracking development progress.
- Ensure the firm's internal deadline targets are met across the entire managed portfolio.
- Monitor compliance quality across the team's output.Â
- Personally manage the firm's larger, more complex and commercially significant monthly clients.
- Conduct high-level client meetings, handle complaints, manage difficult conversations and navigate complex technical queries with confidence and without Partner involvement where possible.
- Provide proactive advisory to clients.
- Identify growth opportunities within the managed portfolio.Â
- Serve as the primary technical resource for the team across monthly accounting, VAT, payroll, PAYE, AFS co-ordination and annual compliance.
- Be expert across the firm's accounting systems - Xero, Pastel, Eureka, and guide the team on system-related queries and issues.
- Handle complex technical queries from Supervisors and Accountants.
- Liaise with Tax, AFS, CIPC and other departments on complex multi-discipline client matters, co-ordinating the firm's full service capability on behalf of the client.Â
- Provide commercially relevant, technically sound advisory to larger clients on matters including business structure, cash flow, tax efficiency, compliance risk and financial performance.
- Identify advisory opportunities within the managed portfolio and raise them with the client and with Partners where appropriate.
- Support the firm's new business and cross-sell efforts by identifying client needs that could be met by other parts of the company service offering.Â
- Ensure the managed team collaborates effectively with AFS, Tax, CIPC, Billing & Debtors and all other firm departments.
- Represent the monthly clients function in firm-wide planning discussions and contribute to operational improvements.
- Support the Billing & Debtors department by ensuring client queries related to invoices and collections are resolved promptly within the managed portfolio.
- Assist any department in the firm that requires the Manager's input.Â
- Maintain personal Infinity updates in real time across all active engagements.
- Own Infinity integrity across the entire managed portfolio. The daily management reports distributed to Partners and the Group CEO are only as accurate as the entries in the managed portfolio.
- Use Infinity as the primary management tool.
- Partner with the Process Management team as a primary stakeholder.
- Drive real-time update discipline across the entire managed team.
- Leverage Infinity automations - ensure workflows are correctly structured so that step completions trigger the right notifications and surface the right next actions for the right people. Â
- Model and enforce all firm service delivery policies.
- Champion the firm's Training & Development culture.
- Engage with the annual one-on-one with the Group CEO to discuss career direction, the partnership pathway, and any matters requiring senior attention.
- Represent the company with the highest standard of professionalism in every client, team and firm interaction.
